Anyone else wearing flats?

Pom, on August 23, 2018 at 10:02 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 30

I'm wearing flat jeweled Badgley Mishka sandals on my wedding day. I just don't feel the need to be bothered with heels. I can honestly say I have never once remembered a bride's shoes after the fact, especially if her dress was floor length. Besides, I'm not at all embarrassed to wear flats. I like to wear heels sometimes but it's really not my thing. I'd rather be comfortable and my actual height in photos. Sometimes I think I'm missing out on feeling extra fancy and wearing the heels, but in the end I don't think I'll regret my decision.

I’m wearing the Kate Spade glitter Keds. If your dress is floor length absolutely no one will see your shoes. Be comfortable!

I can't walk in heels so I am debating between ultimate comfort and wearing flats or wedges.

I'm doing the glitter Keds as well, after so many surgeries on my knee, I need the comfort of a shoe with some support and no heel. I will never wear them again, but they're exactly what I was looking for.

No one will see your shoes! I'm wearing low heels but I'm getting married in a church and FH is VERY tall.

I plan to bring comfortable sandals to change into if I need to.

I'm planning to wear flats. It's going to be a long day and I don't want to be constantly thinking about aching feet. Also, while FH is taller than I am, he doesn't tower over me so I have no real reason to wear heals.

Yeah people often bring the height difference thing into the reasoning behind wearing flats vs. heels. I guess if somebody's partner is like way taller than them they might like to give themselves a few inches to even it out in the photos. My fiancé is like maybe 5 inches taller than me. I'm 5'5 and he's 5'10ish so I think we look pretty balanced together at our actual heights. I definitely don't mind being around the same height when I wear heels, and he doesn't either, but I think wearing flats and being our actual heights is a small added bonus.

I'm totally ditching heels. I'm already stressed about tripping or stumbling and heels would not help me out at all. I found my ivory lace ones at Torrid. Love them!

We wore red and green tennis shoes to match our colors under our dresses and I was comfortable the whole night!

I feel like pinterest and cheesy photos have made shoes a big deal. No one really sees them unless your dress is short.

True. The only shoes I can remember on a bride in recent years was a friend of mine who planned to do sneakers for her reception and heels for the ceremony. In reality the heels were so uncomfortable that she ended up in the sneakers for the whole day. And nobody had any idea.

Those are super cute! I’m wearing flats as well. I’m not one to wear heels and honestly I’d rather enjoy myself instead of worrying about tripping and falling.

I am not a fan of glitter, but I think they go well with my dress and I couldn't find anything else that really worked with it. With the beading on the dress, they complemented each other well, but I'll definitely sell them afterwards as they will just sit in the closet if I don't.

Yeah I don’t see anything wrong with that either. Just sometimes it irks me a little bit when women get upset about being the same height or taller than their man in heels? Idk everyone has their own insecurities I shouldn’t judge. If you feel more comfortable in heels or flats then you should do what you want.

Meeeeee. I loooooove heels but I’m absolutely wearing flats the day of my wedding. I want to be comfortable and have no achy feet immediately after the wedding or the honeymoon. FH loves me in heels so I won’t be telling him that until the day of lol. I may do some modelesque type pics with a colored shoe before the ceremony.

LOL it's funny, me and my fiancé are around the same height in the heels I would normally wear. And he legitimately doesn't care because, like a typical man, he loves how I look in heels. I think the heights thing is much more a female insecurity than a male insecurity. I think most guys don't care at all, they love women in heels. Yet I'm still wearing flats to the wedding.
