Dinner served vs plated vs buffet vs apps

@Ms Boop.....Having a cash bar and not telling the guests is the epitome of rudeness, imho.

But then again, I think it is bad form not to have a 5 hour premium open bar. When my guests come to my home, I have their drink of choice. I would only consider doing the same for a wedding. Yes, I know sometimes this option and opinion are not popular.

Don't do a buffet if you are having more than 100 guests. It ends up being a long tedious process of people standing in line, then other people sitting at tables waiting to be called and finally people finishing their food way ahead of the people who haven't even been called yet. Buffets really only work for smaller weddings when he process can be done quickly. In plated dinners you get a staff to serve the tables almost equally so it lowers the frustration of your guests. My venue offered a food tasting and about 125 people showed up, they did it buffet style in the actual reception hall. Our table was called up first. We were done eating and there were still tables that had not been called. Two couples at my table who had chose buffet for their wedding decided to change it after that experience. Buffett just goes too slow. Remember it's not about pleasing everyone. Just choose two dishes (usually a chicken and a fish or chicken and beef) and be done with it.
