Cocktail and dinner will have big band (frank and michael lol) and Motown music and then will fade into 90's music (slower music first then into the fun stuff) and then on to the party music!!! Whoop whoop! Lol

    That's a good transition, HISballerina!

I really want to have Sade and Coldplay playing during cocktail hour and dinner.

We just let our DJ decide. He's been doing weddings for over 20 years and knows what is good dinner music.

We had easy listening, micheal buble, etc.

No one really notices what is playing while they are eating, unless a really bad song comes on, lol.

I didn't want jazz, Sinatra or soft rock - that's never been my thing. I'm coming up with playlists for cocktail hour and dinner that include songs that FH and I really like, songs that we associate with some of our good friends and/or family members and just generally songs that set the mood we're looking for - appropriate, yet fun, party time! These are the songs we want to hear at our wedding but aren't songs you can dance to necessarily.

I am going to leave it up to the DJ. It isn't something I care a whole lot about and I feel he knows what he is doing.

I want to do mostly Christmas music during dinner (the wedding is the Saturday after Thanksgiving so it's good timing for Christmas music)

It was mostly upbeat songs, this is when we did the more romantic songs and then played only party/dance music for the dancing portion.

We had a band play during dinner. They played a lot of ballads in Italian. It was nice background noise.
