Different kind of celebration

My wedding next weekend, is actually a small ceremony at our house (backyard). We are having our celebration afterwards and invited a few more people. It has saved us thousands of dollars and we feel we will have more fun. Will change out of our wedding gear and put on comfortable clothes to party. Our wedding is also my fiancés birthday…so more reason for a more relaxed celebration. Everything cost under $3K.

My brother & his wife did a small ceremony & dinner for less than 25 at a beautiful historic home & then dinner at an iconic historic restaurant…very private & intimate. The next morning they had a picnic at a local golf course pavilion for a large group (100?) and it worked out great for them!!

I went to something like that a few years ago.

the couple eloped and got legally married already so months after they had a big dinner celebration. it was nice. it felt pretty much like a reception except without the bells and whistles

Getting married 8/20/2022 in Las Vegas traveling from NH. We have about 40 people meeting us out there for all of it. I am excited about it but planning and logistics being in a different time zone has been a unique challenge.
