Did you post about your proposal on social media before telling your family?

Did you make sure your family members were the first to hear the news before taking to facebook, instagram, or twitter? Or did you post your #justsaidyes moment right away and then start ringing your fam??

Did you break the news first on social?? Time to confess if you're innocent or guilty!

We never posted anything on social media. I called my mom first, then told my best friend. After that I let people at work find out and then texted friends photos of the ring throughout the week to announce it to them. I just feel like people overshare on social media and to me an engagement, marriage, baby, etc is really personal and I'd rather connect directly with people to tell them then just blast it on a very public platform.

No way! We made a bajillion phone calls before we posted on social media. Then we turned our phones off and went to dinner.

I made sure that I told all of the important people around me first... It took me about two days to post an announcement on social media!

Nope. I wanted to make sure our family knew first.

We told our close family, then we both posted it on facebook! We were both too happy not to share it with our facebook family!

Completely innocent. We got engaged on Christmas Eve 2018 and I didn't tell any family until we saw them the next day. I didn't want to do it over the phone knowing we would all be together in less than 24 hours, plus it was nice to just share that private moment without anyone distracting us.

I just barely managed to text my Dad and BFF before H changed our relationship status on Facebook. My mom and I were barely speaking at the time so I think it was a couple weeks later with her. Everybody else pretty much found out on Facebook.

Nope. All my immediate family, grandparents, aunts and uncles knew first. As well as our best friends.

Neither of us post any personal stuff. Family first. And personal things, we discuss in person, on the phone, or in letters. Never posted.

My parents had already knew when he was going to do it since he told them 😂😂 I did post it on social media and that’s how my other friends and family found out.

I definitely told family first. My parents knew it was coming because FH asked them about 3 months before he proposed.

Definitely not! Both of families would have killed us... plus, we have more respect for them than that.

I was fortunate enough to have my family there when my fiance proposed, it was so sweet. I didn't want to share anything on social media right after the proposal but my brother posted pictures so I had no choice. I was able to tell my close friends before I posted anything on FB though.

Wellll......... im engaged to a Navy Sailor! So when he proposed me and his family went down to visit, we was alone when he proposed but as soon as we got back his family was DYING to see the ring!! So his family knew way longer than anyone else in the beginning and then when it happened my family and Social Media knew.

Our immediate families and my close friends knew before it happened and apparently they were stalking my social media pages the entire day (my birthday which is NYE). I wanted to wait, but he said “Man let’s post. I‘m ready to let the world know I’m marrying you!” So we both posted an hour after (about 1am bc the proposal happened on New Year’s day during the countdown). Literally had an overload of calls and texts once it was up.

We called our family and close friends, and then posted the next day.

He did that one. He changed his relationship status before we’d even finished dinner which we went to after he proposed, so I spent the rest of dinner trying to text everyone.

No, we actually waited until the day after we notified our immediate family. Once we made sure everyone knew, we shared it on social media with our friends. We didn't want anyone to feel slighted in our families for not knowing.
