Did you help pick your ring?

Laura, on November 26, 2018 at 6:30 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 111

Did you help or have any input into your engagement ring, or was it a total surprise? I would love some pics of your rings! I'll put mine at the end of the post. it's on the correct hand, for some reason it showed backwards

I had no input in the ring choice. I had NO idea he was ready to propose to me. He was working when he picked out my ring. He say the jewelers and stopped. He loved the ring he picked and so do it. We had never discussed rings or style of them, but it's as though he got into my head and picked my dream ring! I love the antique look of it. I knew I didn't want gold and he must have somehow figured that out. He didn't want my input because he knows I would have picked something smaller because i'm frugal (ok he says cheap) but I wouldn't change my ring for anything. It has a pretty band with that attached on our big day.

I helped pick mine. We were looking online and I asked what he would pick for me and it was NOT something I would like lmao so I went around to jewelry stores and created wishlists that had 3 rings on them at each store and he picked from those haha! That way I was still surprised but I knew it was something that I would like!

I had no clue when he would propose. I said I wanted Opal in antique setting. He had my sister help him by fishing for details. I was clueless most of the time lol. I wear no jewelry except a nose hoop ring, so I did not care much for the cost. He said he proposed when he did because he took months to find “the ring”. I think that’s so sweet because I absolutely love the ring.

FH wanted me to pick it out but I refused! I wanted it to come from him. I did go with him to a few different jewelers and pointed out things I liked and didn’t like but I wouldn’t tell him which one I wanted. He of course nailed it! I’m the same as you though, I would have picked a waaay smaller ring than what he got.

I love that! Opal is my birthstone. This is my second marriage, and the first time around I had an opal ring, though not as pretty as that!

I wouldn't have minded that, but I wouldn't have picked an expensive one and he knew that. We dated when I was 15, over 34 years ago, and found each other again and he wanted our second time around to be special

We looked together first, so I knew his budget and went based on that.

We talked a lot about rings so and decided to go with moissanite, so I knew it would be coming. We picked a company and collection, then I picked like 5 that I really liked and he chose from those!

We went together over a year ago to look and I fell in love with this ring. Apparently he bought it a month later and hid it in our basement.

Yup! He proposed with a "temp" ring which was great because I was totally surprised. Then we went shopping together for my ring. I didn't want a band (too clunky), I love my ring!

He picked it out himself and I absolutely love it. We recently had it sized and he had 2 wedding bands added to it (one on top and bottom) and saudered together... When we went to pick it up I was floored! I love it!!!! I've attached pics of before and after also.

He picked mine! I had shown him rings I liked on pinterest.
This one is extra special. The center diamond belonged to my grandpa, I was his only granddaughter when he passed.
My dad gave him the stone when FH asked for his blessing. Apparently I kept showing him most of the rings I liked after dad & FH spoke and FH kept going inside his head "GUH I have a ring ordered!"

We looked at some rings and I showed him what I liked. I really wanted sapphires and diamonds so was happy he chose the set that had them. I love that it has a hidden sapphire under the diamond setting.

I had NO idea a proposal was coming. He worked with a jeweler and bought my ring last October then waited until Thanksgiving while me and my sister were out shopping to ask my parents for their blessing. He proposed a couple of weeks later on the 4th anniversary of the day we met. I figured it would be sometime toward the middle or end of this year but instead now we're married already!

We never talked about styles or anything, but he nailed it!

I ended up accidentally picking my ring out lol. I went with him to try on different styles and the woman helping us was trying to get me to decide on my favorite. Well I found the ring and band and my now fiance said he saw me wearing it and knew that was the ring he was buying me. I would have said yes no matter what but he insisted on getting my input. I think it's beautiful ❤

Definitely chose mine. I’d known the style I wanted for a long time. I chose the setting and the cut and he chose the actual diamond. And he did great! Choosing a piece of jewelry for me would pretty much be his worst nightmare so he was very glad to have the guidance.

He picked it out on his own and surprised me. He knows me very well because it is exactly what I would have chosen. I love it so much.
