Did you go dress shopping with your mom?

For those who went shopping with their moms, was it a nightmare?

I went with my mom and it was so much fun! My mom let's me do my own thing with her input when I ask for it and we have a great time together. Dress hunting was fun because she enjoys the little things with me plus it was hilarious seeing her reaction knowing her little girl is all grown up and about to walk down the aisle.

My mom unfortunately was out of town when I went shopping....but I sent her texts of me in dresses so she could give her opinion and when I put my dress on I bought she agreed it was the dress.

My mom lives with me and my FH and I love her being there...although my mom is like no other she is a hoot always.

I went with my mom and it was awesome. My mom gives me honest opinions so I will say I was a little scared to see if she would hate something I loved. It all worked out though, we both loved the same dress. She cried, the dress consultant cried, I cried it was ridiculous.

My mom has wonderful taste, and knows exactly what looks great on me, so we went shopping together, but it wasn't as smooth sailing as I thought. I thought it would be like say yes to the dress, where her and her friend would be sitting in the chairs waiting for me to come out, but nope...each time I would come out, they would be out of their chairs running around getting more dresses b/c they didn't think the girl assisting me was doing a good enough job. It was pretty frustrating, and my mother was super opinionated and kept saying that she didn't think the sweetheart neckline was for me...until the last few dresses I tried on, which were ones the consultant picked out and then she calmed down. The last dress I tried one, was the one we all fell in love with. Good luck with everything. Mom's can be a piece of work, but I couldn't have imagined her not being there helping me find my dress.

I went with my mom. She was a little annoying about some stuff like, "Oh you want white? Ivory is much better.." Also was acting like we were looking for dresses for her at first. After I started trying them on, I was glad she came

My mom and I went shopping alone first so that we could have our moment to ourselves, and that was the best thing in the world. Then we went again with my bridesmaids..... so I was able to make two fantastic memories and not to mention we had so much fun.

No it wasn't a nightmare. My mom and I had a great time. We took a few hours one Sunday and I tried on dresses. She enjoyed the special day with just the two of us.

In highschool it was so hard for me and my mom to shop together. However, I'm older and our relationship has matured. I went with my mom and two of my best fiends and it went perfectly

I waited to go shopping till my mom flew out across the country with me.

I knew I didn't want a white dress- so we went shopping a friend who's mom did couture dresses- and I was going to try on dresses- get a sense of what we want and have her mom make it. We found something that worked well and I spent 2 weeks trying to find a color version- and wound up getting the dress I have now all alone.

Was a shame because my mom could have gone with me but I didn't think about going down there with her. But we had a good time otherwise. no issue.

My mom is going with me. I think she is more excited then I am lol

I honestly could never go without her. One- I want her there. Two- it would kill her if I left her out.

I've been dress shopping for/with my mom several times and am going with her and my mother in law again on Monday. I think it's a lot of appointments, but my mom really wants my help picking her dress. All good. Smiley smile

I always get my Mom to come with me anytime I shop. She has a great eye for fashion, so it was never a second thought when it came down to shopping for my wedding dress. Well, just as I expected, she found the perfect dress for me!!

My mom is super easy... but I went with a friend and got a dress. She got to see me in it when we went to pick something up together and helped me pick out a veil. At which time I also bought her a MOB dress so she owes me lol

This is my second marriage, and while my parents don't technically blame me for my divorce (exH cheating), they were definitely less excited about coming dress shopping this time. Noticeably more muted. When I found the "one," and said I loved it, my mum was basically like ok we're done order it let's go. It sucked a little, I'll be honest.

I think bringing a friend with you is a good idea. I'm self conscious about my looks and didnt, but if I had, my friend's excitement would have likely quelled any parental disappointment, ya know?

I'm not taking my mom I'm taking my friends instead Smiley smile

ETA: my mom can be super critical and we don't see eye to eye on a lot. I'll bring her for maybe a fitting but for picking out my dress I rather have people who know my style Smiley smile

Went With mom and she is the one that cried for me when I found the one. My mom is easygoing so she didn't push me into anything. I also only went with her alone and no one else.
