Last question!! Throughout the entire wedding planning process - have you ever said *or thought* "man I wish we were eloping instead"? Are you innocent or guilty? Thanks for playing!! If you missed some of the earlier questions, click here to see them all: Are you innocent or guilty?

Sometimes I really do, but then I think about all the people I want to share in the moment with us and that idea goes right out the window. le sigh

Guilty! Since our house hunt has really taken over wedding planning, and we are going to Ireland in two weeks the temptation to just elope and call it a day is REAL.

YES!!! I have always wanted a big family wedding here but when I realized there is no way in heck I could afford the wedding I wanted, I keep trying to convince everyone we should just do a dw! FH is down and so are my older sister and her bf (MOH and BM) but my parents and his grandparents (the people we most imagine being at our wedding cant travel (fear, illness, or financial) so that's out sadly

I actually just posted about our decision this morning! We have abandoned our planning adventure and have opted for another adventure instead - we are eloping to Key West. Our kids are coming with us, and if anyone else wants to come on down and hang out with us, that's great. But we are focusing on us and our kids rather than trying to please 75+ other people. And it feels SO much better! Smiley laugh

Elope in Ireland!!! FH and I were in a similar situation (our business takes up all of our time/we don’t want to plan a wedding) and we’ve finally decided we are going to elope in the mountains on our trip to NC this summer!

Parts of me yes...well I mean technically we did but we are still having the Vegas wedding. My mom was driving me up a wall but I'm glad we are still having our big party.

    50/50.

I think about how much money I could have been saving. BUT I have always wanted a wedding where I could celebrate with family and friends, and I know that I wouldn't have been able to get that if we eloped. Oh, the struggle!

We're going to Vegas this weekend for vacation and I wish it was to get married and not spend thousands on a wedding next year. My friend just got married and I watched it live, felt like I was right there. I'm also fine with the courthouse. This is my 1st marriage and FH 2nd. so he feels that i should have a wedding. I just dont want to spend alot of money for 1 day so I'm going to try to tighten the purse strings and be as frugal as possible. The biggest expense for us will be the venue. Everything else we can swing monthly via our paychecks.

We are so guilty. We went back and forth on this. However, I am so thankful we had our day with family and friends it was amazing.

HONEST yes. I wanted to do a cool private little ceremony in the mountains...

but my mom requested we have a more traditional wedding, I'm her only daughter, and her oldest, first to get married, so she really wanted to do it up. She's helping me pay or I'd just say screw it, and get married in the mountains. LOL

But I am excited now that things are falling into place.

Omg, yes. I think we both said we wished we eloped like every week up until the wedding! It was just a lot of stress. But the wedding turned out perfect and it was everything we hoped for and more. We have an amazing time and all the guests seemed to enjoy themselves. So no regrets at all! I'm so glad we had a wedding. Would I do it again though? Maybe not hahaha Smiley xd

We got married at a courthouse and it was definitely the wrong decision for me. We decided to do a vow renewal this year and I wouldn't have it any other way

Yes. Heavily considered it and still want to consider it. Been two months since we got engaged and FMIL has not even acknowledged we are engaged.

This brings me joy! Did you find packages in key west to make the experience pretty seamless as well?

Yes, we did! Our elopement package includes an officiant, a beach location, a photographer, a bouquet for me and boutonnière for him, a night at the hotel, and breakfast the morning after. And best yet - a back up plan in case of bad weather. I actually feel totally at loose ends because I suddenly don’t have much to do in terms of planning. Smiley sexy

One thing, though...because we are flying our kids down and putting them up, it’s ending up costing us a lot more than our original wedding was going to be. So we’re not doing it to save money after all. But it’ll be more relaxed and fun and I think worth every penny. Smiley laugh
