Did you cry when you found "the" dress?

I am planning on starting to look for dresses in the near future, and would love to know what all of your reactions were if you have already found yours!

I didn't cry and neither did my mom or sister. It was more along the lines of "wow, you look so beautiful in that dress. It really flatters you and looks great!"

The other ones I tried on just were... meh. There was something not quite right about the other dresses. I felt great in that first dress and my mom and sister said I looked great.

Nope. And my mom hates it. But the SECOND I put it on, all I could think was...OMG I love it. It was like a sledgehammer to the face. But my mom hated it so I put it back. 3 months later my MOH and BMs convinced me to go back and try it on because I still hadn't found one that compared. I still loved it and then THEY cried. lol

    No.

I almost cried when they were going to alter it in a way I didn't want.

I didn't cry. I just got super happy and smiled from ear to ear. Everyone's experience is different.

I teared up a little, but I never felt like the dress had to pass the "cry test". I smiled - a lot!

I teared up a little bit but I swear it was more tears of happiness that I was finally done shopping and schlepping around those heavy freaking dresses.

Can you tell I'm not much into dressing up?

I didn't cry immediately but I did cry after I purchased the dress...and not because it was expensive. I think I just had a delayed reaction.

Nope. I was very smiley and giddy, though, and all the sales consultants were commenting "Oh look how happy she is, that MUST be the dress!" Smiley smile

Oh, but like what some of the others have said, I was smiling really big while wearing it.

No I didnt crry. I just felt this overwhelming sense of happy. I kept smiling and couldnt stop even if I wanted to. Most people don't cry so it was helpful to know that I found "the one" even though I didnt actually cry.

@Rebecca I would be so stressed out if that happened to me! I'm glad you were able to make that snap decision because there is no way that I could lol!

@Blondie123 I'm sorry that your grandma can't attend your wedding. My grandma is one of my best friends and she is turning 90 this month, and I hope she will be able to attend mine next year. I wish your grandma all the best Smiley smile

@M&T Your dress is absolutely gorgeous! You look so happy!

I didn't cry when I bought the one. I cried when I had my first fitting and knew I made the right decision.

I didn't, but I did tear up when I looked in the mirror at the church once I was 100% ready to walk down the aisle. I wasn't expecting that.

I kinda cried with the first few, not because of the dress but just the realization it was really happening! I kept waiting for "the" dress and after several places and no "feeling" i was so overwhelmed! So one day I went alone after work and tried on the styles I thought I liked and then the consultant brought out a lace ball gown. I didn't ask her for lace but said hey what the heck! I tried it on and fell in love with it! i couldn't stop smiling and forgot about all the others!

Nope. But I don't think I shed a tear during the entire process.

I did cry on a dress that happened to be my 2nd time trying on dresses…and I actually didn’t end up getting the dress. On the 3rd time trying on the dresses, I found the one –And I felt extremely sexy in it compared to the one I cried in. I felt like more like a queen in it and it was also close to the style that I was looking for. I never looked back to the one I cried in and the dress I picked is definitely the one.

Nope. I did two days of shopping, and at the end of the second day I could only remember two dresses distinctly. One was a clear 'no', and one was my dress. I still love it, 15 years after the wedding and have never seen another that even comes close!
