Did you bring your bridal accessories to your dress fitting?

Monica, on February 14, 2020 at 11:02 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18
Just curious if some of you brought all your items you plan on wearing with your dress to your fitting? Im getting anxious the last time I spoke to the bridal salon they told me my dress is expected the beginning or middle of Feb so im hoping to get a notification soon. I plan on wearing a necklace & veil, and undergarments strapless bra & shapewear. Should I bring it all?

I just brought my shoes with me so I knew the length was okay and the undergarments I plan on wearing. I tried it on with my veil and jewelry once I brought it home Smiley smile

I just wore the right bra and shoes so they could get the hem right. Everything else doesn’t really affect the way it will be altered.

I plan on bringing my shoes and shapewear. When I went to pick up my dress from the bridal store I tried on my dress just to make sure everything looked ok from when it was ordered. I didn't bring the shapewear that I had when I was first trying on wedding dresses and I noticed a difference without it because my shapewear was so slimming. If you think you might be having alterations done to the fit of the dress it might be best to bring the shapewear to ensure the alterations still properly fit on your wedding day.

I think that's totally fine! Especially if you're wondering how things will look & want to see it all together.

I’d bring everything just to make sure it flows well. You don’t want to leave anything to chance so close to the date.

Thanks for the tip. Shapewear is a must! I wore it when trying on dresses too because I didn’t want to leave room for the “it will look even better with shapewear” & end up getting a dress I dont like because some styles even with shapewear aren’t flattering on me. Will def bring it to the first fitting.

Ok it’s decided im going to bring it all. The bridal shop will have good lighting so I can take a few pictures & think about any of my accessories I want to change or add or If i want to decide on diff wedding hair.
Once I bring the dress home I most likely wont mess with it or take it out the bag at all. And I probably wont get to take it home for a while because of alterations too.

My veil isn’t traditional. Its white & gold Indian scarf that im using as a veil. I will be sad if it doesn’t flow w my dress.

Another question. We are supposed to get the dress steamed before we wear it right? Or not really? Lol

Thank you, I tried!! The seamstress didn't mind at all that I wanted to see the whole look. She even took pics for me lol. She said to bring it all again to my next fitting!
