Did you always dream about your wedding day?

yadayada, on November 23, 2009 at 5:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

I never dreamed about my wedding day, and it is very interesting to me that others did. When I was younger I was very shy with no desire to be the center of attention and had no love of poofy uncomfortable dresses. As I got older I realized that wedding led to MARRIAGE, and marriage was a lot of work, so it just never seemed like much of a fantasy. So, for you dreamers, what did you dream about specifically? Was it the dress-up part of it, or it being YOUR day? Did you dream about the marriage or just the wedding day itself?

I never did either. I enjoy being the center of attention, although I'm shy when I am not. I know, it doesn't make any since! I always thought about the man I would marry and not my wedding or my dress. SO many girls say "I've dreamed about it my whole life" I cannot say that either. Good post!

I guess I occasionally dreamed about my wedding. When I was little it was about the wedding and the dress and stuff like that. I also would sometimes picture it when I was helping my other friends get married. The older I got the less I dreamed about it. Mostly because I was in a bad relationship and then single for 5 yrs before I met my FH. I do have to say that lately the wedding consumes my thoughts but I also give a lot of thought about being a wife and to the marriage part of this whole also!

I am one of those girls who dreamed my whole life about it. I used to draw out pictures of dresses that I'd want to have custom made for me and my bridesmaids. Apparently I thought I'd have a money tree in my back yard too! haha I actually did find an almost exact dress to my wedding dress doodle! It was amazing!!! so I bought it without thinking twice and two years later I'm happy with my decision. haha. I knew what I wanted to wear and that I would have my hair in long beautiful curls. Part of it up part of it down. but now I have super short hair and I can't stand to take care of long hair. (my pic is the longest it has ever been) So needless to say I'm getting extensions. I literally would have dreams on a weekly basis of the actual wedding when I was about fifteen or so. It would make me crazy because I could never see the groom's face and the day I met my now fiance, I had that dream again that night and I saw his face and it was him. I kid you not! It was the most amazing...

    (Continued)

Dream ever!!! Ahhh but yea I've always planned it out since I was a little kid. I knew there would be tons of flowers and diamonds everywhere and it would have every person I had ever met. Then we would take our stretch limo back to our mansion and live happily ever after....again, I guess I thought I'd have a money tree! Lol Smiley smile

I never dreamt about my wedding day I used to dream about what my husband would be like and well he is better than the dream! I never really had any idea of what my wedding would be like which worked well for us because we were both so open to eachothers ideas through all the planning I didnt have specific colors or a theme or anything in mind lol.

I like this post. This will be my 2nd marriage. I never dreamed of having a wedding or a marriage the 1st time - which lasted just short of 11 years. This time around, we both are older & wiser (this is his 1st marriage). We know what we want & don't want & are mature enough to make comprimising decisions. And, so my answer would be yes to having dreamt of both wedding and marriage this time around and I can't wait! -dh
