Destination Wedding

CJ Gebhardt, on May 9, 2020 at 9:34 PM Posted in Hawaii Planning 0 3
My fiance and I live in Utah and after looking at venues and trying to compromise on the perfect local location, we've decided on a destination wedding. We know we want to go to Hawaii, any of the islands, but I just don't know where to start. My biggest "issue" is not being able to tour the venues. How are you all planning your destination weddings or where did you even begin?

We read reviews and check out pictures and videos from venues customers. I don’t really pay much attention to what the venues post on their website and social medias. Customer direct reviews are for me number one priority, then the price - quality is number two.

Same as Belle I heavily relied on reviews and pictures from other real weddings to get a real feel for the place!

WeddingWire also has 360 degree virtual tours for some of our venues! For example - check out the virtual tour of Sunset Ranch Hawaii!

For mine in Jamaica we actually went there to vacation, and decided to tour some venue options. I had been researching already for a couple months and was just lucky that we had this trip planned. I’m really happy I got to see the venue we chose, I actually hadn’t even stumbled across it online and when we took the tour I was blown away. After checking out their reviews I knew I couldn’t go wrong. It actually turned out it was voted one of the top boutique hotels in Caribbean. I was so happy we found it lol. When I was Researching I knew I wanted either a villa or a boutique hotel. I spoke with lots of venue and gathered information on what the fees were for the wedding packages, what they included, was upgrading an option, menu options and prices ect. I felt this way I could get an idea of what the “average” was so I could make a good informed decision. It was a bit tricky at first and took probably 40 emails back and forth with my current venue before the contract was signed and deposit was sent. Make sure you know their cancellation policies.
