Hello ladies. So I booked the destination wedding venue in St. Lucia and it's a given that I am going to invite my close family and friends but is there certain etiquette on who else to invite? My fh and I don't mind inviting various friends and extended family, and we realize everyone won't be able to come and we have accepted that. So my question is do you invite 100 hoping 30-40 may actually come? We want to invite as many as we can without out go over budget but since it is destination, not really sure if we can go about inviting guests the same way you normally would since the acceptance rate for dw is typically much lower. I may be overthinking this and confusing myself so please help lol. Thanks!

Well, I've had a different experience because everyone begged to come to my DW in Jamaica... Lol. My FH lives in Jamaica so, if I want his family to attend this is the only place to have it. I set my budget for 50ppl however we sent out 60 invitations.. By the verbal comments made from some guest who received the STD I've pretty much gauged whom will not be getting a formal invite. Nevertheless, invite more , expect less!

I too am having a DW. We planned a DW for a few reasons we wanted to have it close to family, a lot of them are near our DW location, two it was budget friendly and all inclusive three we wanted a little mini moon fun! We get three days with our guests rather than a short five or six hours. We are hosting and paying for part or all of the trip for our guests and to answer your question, they say to plan for about 80 percent of your guest list to attend just a FYI.
