Destination wedding- real vs fake flowers

Kristi, on February 3, 2018 at 12:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 2
Hello everyone! I’m getting married in Turks & Caicos and still going back and forth on flowers. The price for flowers at my resort is ridiculous. $550 per centerpiece, $575 for my bouquet, $350 for each bridesmaid, $750 for the arch arrangement, etc. I have always been a fan of real flowers but can’t see spending over $6,000 on them. I also can’t bring anything “living” to Turks and Caicos which they consider real flowers at customs or other vendors onto the resort, so shopping around isn’t even an option. Thinking of doing half and half. Do you think the bouquets or centerpieces?

Can you have bouquets and centerpieces shipped to the resort? I'm normally a big fan of real flowers, but those prices would be hard to swallow. I would get prices for high quality artificial flower arrangements and consider using them for all the flowers if the cost savings is significant enough.

We are unable to get flowers shipped to the resort but I think I am going to do lanterns with large green palm leaves and single colorful flowers in mini vases to add some color. This is cutting my flower budget in half while keeping the real flowers!
