Destination Guest List Turnout?

Michelle, on July 7, 2019 at 11:56 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
What was the turnout like for your invites vs actual number attending at your DW? I am paying for 50 and inviting about 75 and really hope I won’t go too much over 50. Wedding is in Puerto Vallarta on Memorial Day 5/25/20 and guests will be coming from Arizona, Chicago, Denver, and France.

I think this really depends on your guests and whether they’re willing/able to spend that kind of money to attend. We had friends get married in the DR in January and 35 out of 90 invited came. A few years ago we had friends who got married in Jamaica and 55 out of 60 guests attended.

We got married on the beach in Florida and we are from Maryland and Pennsylvania and almost every person we invited came. I was worried because with price of flights and the hotel was almost $300/night I thought people might decline but they didn’t. Sometimes I think if people have enough notice it’s like a vacation for them too.

We got married in Carmel, CA and about 2/3 of our guests ended up attending (~130/200).

We invited over 50% of our guest list from out of state. We invited full families & significant others, so a lot of people aren't bringing their kids. We had 123 yes and 110 no.
