Desi Weddings

Has anyone here had a desi (Pakistani/ Indian/ Bengali) wedding recently? How much is normal for bridesmaid outfits? Keep in mind we have like 4 main events and all smaller events

I have 9 bridesmaids. They're doing matching outfits for mehndi and then for the actual wedding reception I told them to wear whatever style in

royal blue. I placed an order to have the mehndi outfits stitched to each girls size in Pakistan and then shipped over. It'll be $110 each.

Thanks Farah! I just wanted to make sure around $100 isn't too much.

Are you paying for them or are they paying?

I have 14 BMs and its too much for me to afford, right now.

    What's the proper etiquette?

Are you only having 1 ceremony for the wedding? We are having 2 weddings so for one I am asking them just to wear a certain color/color scheme, and for the second they will be wearing matching outfits that they are purchasing.

If they are not able to wear the color scheme for the first wedding then it isn't a big deal to me.

@Abeer $100 isn't much for 1 outfit but that's a question for your bridesmaids. Get their budget before you make any decisions. I personally wouldn't ask them to coordinate or match for any other event. Bridesmaids know to pay for 1 dress but first step is to make sure you ask them what they can afford.

I'm have FOUR main events!! EESSHH!!

I want matching for mehndi because of entrance and dances

    Just a color for maaiyon

And whatever they want for baraat and walima

Nikkah is just a small thing, they can wear what they want.

My question is still is it appropriate to ask them to pay? I don't know how this works.

And my mom makes clothes, so I'm getting it from her.

She's trying to keep it as cheap as possible.

When I was in Indian weddings we were only asked to buy 1 outfit. We changed into whatever we wanted for other events. For 1 wedding we had multiple dresses but the bride supplied them all.
