Yar, on November 5, 2019 at 1:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
Hello, I’m currently a newly with being engaged, I was thinking about planning my wedding date on the same day that I got engaged, but the thing about it I think it’s kinda weird to have a wedding on a Friday any thoughts about it ? Would it be weird to have a wedding on a Friday ?

No you can have your wedding any day you like. It's up to you. If you tell all your family and friends ahead of time then they'll be able to make arrangements for the Friday you plan to have the wedding on.

I wouldn’t call it “weird” ...it’s becoming more common as it can be a slightly cheaper day or at really popular venues where Saturdays get booked up quickly. But, it can be an inconvenience for guests, depending on circumstance. It wasn’t an option for me as my wedding was out of state and with so many people needing to travel. I didn’t want to put anyone in the position of deciding between skipping work or skipping my wedding. But, I’ve attended a local wedding on a Friday that I enjoyed very much! A little rush to get dressed and get there after work. But it was so awesome to have my whole weekend still ahead when the wedding was over!

I'm getting married on a Friday because that's the day that works for us and the church where we wanted to get married. People know in advance its in a Friday, so its up to them how they want to coordinate if they want to make it. We are getting married 5 days after the 1 year anniversary of our engagement. Do whats best for you and with enough notice, everyone else can figure it out.

Friday weddings are actually becoming more popular since they are often cheaper. The downside of a Friday wedding is that they can be inconvenient for some guests. My friend is getting married on a Sunday because it is cheaper so I had to make plans to go into work later on Monday since the wedding is until 9 PM and I won't get home until like 12 AM since my friend lives 3 hours from where I live. There was no way I was getting up at 5:30 AM for work the next day so I checked with my work and I'm going in later than normal. Like I am doing, guests will often make special accommodations in order to be able to attend.

Friday weddings are very common! They tend to be cheaper as well. I am getting married on a Saturday but did consider a Friday wedding!

I think Friday is fine. Especially if done at around 6pm or so.

CONGRATULATIONS!! Nothing wrong or weird with getting married on a Friday. My wedding day is on a Friday and it worked out for us. We let our families know the date ahead of time so they can mark it down - of course we will send out Save The Dates - but just as a heads up. Leaves more time to enjoy the weekend too especially if you have family in town for your big day.

We chose a Friday to get married. Not until next but I knew that it would be cheaper to do it any other day besides Saturday. We're having a destination wedding so people have the option of flying in for wedding and flying out at the end of the weekend. Its your wedding, do whatever YOU like.

We are doing the same thing Anniversary, engagement date and soon to be wedding date are all on the same day and the wedding lands on a Friday. I don’t think it’s weird some people get married during weekdays, I’ve gone to a wedding on a Wednesday before, and whether it’s based on a budget thing or you just really want that specific date the choice is yours. I don’t see anyone saying it’s odd for it being on a Friday. Congratulations and good luck in your planning🎉
