Decoration Help

Hollie, on March 5, 2026 at 9:44 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 2
Hi everyone! I am renting out a town hall for the reception for my August wedding. The venue has ALOT of strict rules for the safe. No helium balloons, no tape, tacks, or nails for the walls. How can I decorate such a large bland space!?

For the reception, focus decor and color on where you want guests to look: the dining tables where they're seated, each other, and on you. Plan centerpieces, place settings, great food. Add music and the beautiful couple of honor. Create an evening of social enjoyment with dancing and/or socializing. If you worry about white walls, add uplighting or add candle lighting on the tables. Balloons are for birthdays. For ceremony, place flowers or plants where you will take your vows. Everything else is white space. Best wishes.

My opinion is that the room/space will look a lot fuller once you have your tables and chairs set up, cake table, etc. and all of your guests. Your guests will be focusing on you and the other guests and then maybe the centerpieces and the food so I don’t think that you have to add too much other decor to the space.
