Decorating small room in restaurant

Anna, on November 10, 2016 at 11:25 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 3

Due to keeping our budget low we are hosting our reception at a local steakhouse. They have a separate party room we can use. My question is how do I make the space feel more like a wedding reception and less like a generic restaurant room? My theme is on the rustic/ romantic side. Burlap, lace, etc.

My MOH did this. She had white table cloths and floating candle centerpieces. They were simple to put together, but looked beautiful. You could always rent/buy burlap or lace table runners or use the materials to make centerpieces.

I second floating candles, check out Dollar Store for vases. Stick some greenery on the tables, couple of low single stem flowers in vases, lots of votives, lace table runners. Ask the venue if you can get colored tablecloths instead of white, if they go through a services it normally isn't much more for an upgrade. We used black at daughter's and it really made all the decor pop and snazzed it up to look more elegant than the normal white.

This is a broad look at what the private room in a local restaurant looked like for our celebration. It wasn't the actual wedding, so we didn't go all out for decorations but we had the ability to dim the lights and had floating candle centerpieces. We chose the black tablecloths and white napkins so things would pop more and not be completely washed out with too much white.
