Decor for a green and gold wedding

Naimah, on March 22, 2009 at 3:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

I'm recently engaged and just started the planning phase. Me and my fiance decided on ivory, green and gold for our wedding colors. But we're not sure what shade of green would blend with the ivory and gold. We would appreciate any ideas or suggestions on which shade of green to use and how to incorporate these colors into the decor for the reception.

Very nice colors! What about something like a hunter green or deep green? For decor you can find tons of stuff. Especially around Mardi Gras (if that type of theme appeals to you). Are you going for a foraml look or something more whimsy and fun?

    What about...

*gazing balls? Ive seen several in gold and green.

*stands of gold and green beads

*Mardi Gras masks (if you'd like mardi gras theme, you can make them yourself too)

    *Over sized ornaments?

*Feathers in green, gold, and ivory

*Chinese fighter fish in large martini glasses

Theres a lot you can do with decor. I hope this was helpful. Good luck with all your planning!

First of all, congrats on your engagement. I think a light green would look beautiful with ivory and gold. Maybe like a sage, mint, celery, or honeydew. Hope that helps.

I highly agree with sage green. I was in a wedding this weekend with the exact same colors as yours...it was magnificent! It was a very elegant combination. Congratulations on the engagement and God bless you both.

Those colors are great for the time of year you plan to get married! The vendor you choose to rent from or your wedding consultant can assist you in putting together some samples to work with your color scheme. I typically will show a client a couple of different shades of a color they like. This helps them SEE what their choice will look like. Hope this helps. Congrats and Good Luck.

Sage would be classy with the gold and ivory. Or a bright olive would be really fun if you wanted the colors to pop more.

Congrats on your engagement! I used the same colors for my wedding and I was so pleased with the outcome. I recommend using climbing Ivy and white lights at your reception, it makes for a beautiful atmosphere and is pretty inexpensive.

    Best Wishes,

The shade of green that I would suggest that would compliment gold and ivory really well is the color green of the green Cymbidium orchid. I can't add a photo but if you try googling images of this flower you will see the shade I'm referring to.

Apple green as an accent color will give your colors a pop.
