Wow that was really inconsiderate especially if he had already promised it to you. I have my mom's ring and I cant imagine if my dad had given it to someone else.

Thank you. I think my brother thought it would be a nice gesture, but he never spoke to me about it. I can't imagine anyone accepting it either.

Did he propose to her withit? I guess it doesn't matter since she has it. I would be so hurt. I'm so sorry. Did she have anything else you might be able to cherish just as much?

Oh I am so sorry. My mom also died, also of cancer. I wear her engagement ring on a chain on my neck almost every day, and it will be the only jewelry on my neck the day of the wedding. My sister took my mom's wedding band for the same purpose, so we each have one of her rings. If your brother took the engagement ring, maybe you can have the wedding band? Or something that your mom wore every day that meant a lot to her? I know it's not the same, but at least she'll still be part of your wedding jewelry then.

So sorry this happen to you, my Mom past away some years ago each of her daughters got one of her rings, I got her Mother's ring, also she was buried with her wedding set because she had too many daughters and didn't want to chose which one should of got it,
