Debating wedding dress purchase

Kaitlyn, on June 16, 2022 at 8:09 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
Has anyone had the issue where they bought their dress and then can’t stop thinking about how they want another one and / or stressing a bit over their dress? Can’t help but feel like I want one with more volume and a bigger open back. To be fair - I went to five stores before I found this and got super excited (but now I’m hesitant). What did you all end up doing? Thanks for the help Smiley smileDebating wedding dress purchase 1

I think your dress is lovely Kaitlyn! 😍 The train is super cute & the flowers really add an extra umph to it! I recently purchased this dress from Davids Bridal and I love it. I wouldn’t want any other dress. Debating wedding dress purchase 3

Um all of us? 😂 I think there’s a reason why we chose “the” dress. For me, it was the one I pictured myself getting married in. And for months I felt like I didn’t try on enough or it wasn’t the perfect one for everybody else.

    You look absolutely stunning!!

The dress is beautiful if you want it more full you could see if layers could be added underneath, but it's beautiful!

Absolutely. I got my dress back in March for my January wedding and just recently a store I work by put a dress in the window that I'm OBSESSED with. Like... my dress is beautiful but this dress is so modern and cool. Makes me second guess my choice. BUT that being said I also know that I really do love my dress, its surprisingly incredibly comfortable for the shape, probably will hold up better in pictures than this other one, and will *hopefully* get here in time for alterations

I absolutely love my dress but I wish it wasn’t as poofy … you can’t tell in this picture but it’s heavy and super poofy! Also your dress is GORGEOUS… I think it looks perfect on you 😍

Yes! I purchased three dresses before I found the one. I have learned not to be impulsive in dress decision making. Once I tapped into the vision I had for myself it made the decision easier.

Doubts are completely normal, if you think you won't be happy then go try on something more in line with what you are think but you may just end up confusing yourself. For what it is worth I think you look stunning in that dress but what really matter is how you feel in it. Good luck!!!

I've been there. In early 2020 about a month or so after we got engaged, I went to a shop just to look around and see what I liked, and I ended up finding The One™ after trying on only like 5 dresses. The literal next day the world shut down because of COVID, so I planned to just leave the dress at the store for safe-keeping until I was ready to take it somewhere for alterations. I've had my dress over 2 years now, and back in February I had a complete panic attack because I had doubts about whether I should have tried on more dresses, if I let my mom sway my opinion too much, and I didn't think I liked it anymore. I (finally!) went to the store to pick it up last month and brought my jewelry with me to try it all on together with the dress and veil, and I felt SO much relief. I think just being away from your dress for a while, looking/ thinking about other dresses, forgetting how it felt/ looked like in person, and/ or not seeing the whole thing together all play a part in feeling unsure about your dress after you buy it. Rest assured, it's totally normal Smiley smile

I think your dress looks really pretty as-is, but if you want more volume you could consider doing an overskirt for the ceremony then having the fitted look for the reception.
