Daytime Wedding Menu

Lisa, on July 2, 2019 at 11:52 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 31
Our venue is all inclusive and offer a variety of menu options. We originally wanted to have a brunch menu but now we are rethinking.

If you were invited to a daytime wedding where the reception started at 12:30pm, would you prefer:

brunch: hors d’oeuvres, mini quiches, sausage in a puff pastry & Caesar salad on a crostini. Scrambled eggs, bacon, prime rib, fruit, mixed green salad, waffles & breakfast potatoes. Beer, wine & champagne bar

lunch: hors d’oeuvres, fruit station, mini quiches & sausage in puff pastry. Rolls with butter, creamy mashed potatoes or roasted potatoes (undecided), seasonal veggies, flank steak and herb baked chicken. Beer, wine & champagne bar

surprisingly the lunch menu is cheaper than brunch! By about $1500. That could go towards upgraded photography options, or liquor upgrades!

We are now leaning towards the more traditional dinner menu, which will pair better with alcohol

Your thoughts are appreciated!!

Forgot to add that mixed green salad is also included with lunch (choice of three dressings)

Generally speaking, I'm always pro waffle. But that lunch menu looks fantastic!
I'd probably go with lunch. For all the reasons you listed, and 12:30 seems lunchier. Plus, if you have people who eat and drink like me, I'd eat bacon, a waffle, and accidentally get loaded on wine because I don't usually pair breakfast foods with booze.

If lunch is $1500 cheaper, I'd go with that one.

Personally, the lunch options sound devine and the price difference is large enough to make it worth while in savings. I am also having a lunch reception starting at noon and we will be serving a full meal to our guests. I attached our menu if you want to check it out! I hope you thoroughly enjoy whatever choice you make 😊 congratulations!

I love the lunch menu! You get the good parts of brunch with better sides for the meat. Obviously prime rib is a better cut of beef and probably why it's more expensive, but your only lunch sides are salads, unless you include b-pots. Saving 1500 is awesome, too!

Don't get me wrong, though, I LOVE brunch. I'd be a happy guest with either.

I went to a brunch wedding and it was the best! I love breakfast foods so I didn't mind one bit.
