Daylight savings time = perfect for weddings :)

glam2013, on March 10, 2013 at 6:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 29

My ceremony starts at 5 and I wondered if that would be too late. Now with the daylight savings time I am reminded...absolutely not! It's a beautiful day in the Atlanta area! It's almost 7 pm and the sun is just now starting to set. On my wedding day we would be getting ready to start the reception...

5:00-6:00- ceremony (I know it will end before then but everything is at the same venue!

6:00-7:00 cocktail hour and mingling (bridal party pics)

7-11 let's eat, pray, love, and party!!!!

So excited to be a spring bride!!!!!! Smiley smile ok just having a little happy moment lol.

I have the exact time line as well....i purposely picked this time frame because i am only shooting for a 30-45 min ceremony and the venue we are using has lots of huge open windows all around it and i have seen previous wedding pics at that same venue same time frame and they were beautiful with the sunset coming through....Im so exicted I cant wait.

I know! I'm so excited we have that extra sunlight for pictures! And you're right, we have the exact same timeline. I just need to get all the before events time out so we can have all our pictures.

    I'm so stinkin excited!

Micachoo: Yes twin we are the same in so many ways. I agree I definitely need to finalize timelines and photo opportunities that I want, but ugh so many things to do as it is and the wknd was so pretty so you already know, lol. But going to get on it. Its all so very exciting indeed!! Smiley smile

Donnabelle: Aw your day comes up first, cant wait to see pics! That was my initial day actually (my dads bday) and then we changed it because my fiance is a teacher and football coach and he wasnt going to be able to take a honeymoon immediately after. But you are going to be a beautiful spring bride!

Since I live in Az we don't do daylight savings time.. We stay the same all year long.. So the sun should set by 7:30 pm where I live.. My ceremony starts at 5 pm too so I'm not worried... We will still have the sun out for pics and by the time we are partying in reception the sun should be going down.

Val, I actually never knew that about AZ! In Georgia its a big deal! Around Christmas time it was getting pitch dark around 6, in recent weeks around 6:30/6:45 and now the sun is out until almost 8pm so its just perfect! I am not sure how you get ANYTHING done in AZ. It has been such a challenge for me to stay in the house today- so beautiful (day 1 of daylight savings) Smiley smile

We're going an hour later -- 6 p.m. I wanted as close to sunset as I could get and still feed people at an appropriate time. Wedding 6, Cocktail hour 6:30-7:30, dinner 8, dancing til 11:30. Ours is May 30, 2014. :-)

Haha...good schedule. I am totally unorganized when it comes to having "set" days to get things done, but somehow it magically gets done... My life of a work as a work at home/stay-at-home mom Smiley smile
