Day of wedding car rental

Tatiana, on January 19, 2017 at 1:36 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10

So I'm not sure how ppl usually deal with the car rental situation. If I don't want my fh to see me before the wedding how do I get him and his groomsmen and me and my bridesmaids to the venue? Also if I just want the car rental there to take us to the venue and take pictures after the ceremony instead of staying until the end of the reception to take us back to the hotel because I don't want to pay for all the inactive hours the driver will just be sitting there, how will we get back after the reception? Bottom line I want to know A, how do I get everyone there. B, how do I avoid paying for a car service for hours when I just want it for like 2 hrs. C, how are we getting back to the hotel afterwards. D, what is the cheapest way to accomplish all this?

Get an uber or have someone drive you to the venue

And then have a car service or uber take us to the hotel? And what about pictures

If you want the car for pictures, I found that most limo services have a minimum of 3 hours so you might have to have them "inactive" for part of the time if you want to go that way. If you dont care about the pictures, you can always take an uber as mentioned or have someone else drive you.

I was having a similar dilemma. Right now I know the limo is picking us ladies up and then picking the guys up but thats a decent amount of driving but I might have someone drive me (like my father or an uber) and then have the guys all meet the girls and hop on the bus together to avoid more inactive time than needed.

We're staying in the same hotel the night before our wedding, but in different rooms on different floors. FH and groomsmen are either renting a car or just driving themselves to the church. My bridesmaids are taking a limo and I'm taking a separate limo with my dad. The limos will take us to our reception and we're going to take our guest shuttle back to the hotel. That way we aren't paying for the limos to standby, but I know not everyone uses a shuttle.

Do you have anyone who'll be around early, like your parents, who can drive you? I think that's what we're doing to get to the venue.

Thanks you guys. I was originally going to take a shuttle back to the hotel but just found out they no longer offer a shuttle. Maybe we will take a limo from the hotel and pay for the tree hours so that we can take pictures after the ceremony then do uber back to the hotel after the reception.

I heard some brides use Uber Lux. I'm riding with my God father to the ceremony and the reception is in the same place. Then we are either using Uber Lux back to the hotel or renting a car. Haven't quite decided yet.

The best man drove my husband to the church. I rode with my mom to the church. We took a limo to the hotel. I dropped my car at the hotel on the way to the church earlier in the day so we drove my car home the next day. Everyone else arranged their own transportation.
