Day of timeline

Taylor, on October 22, 2019 at 12:12 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4
I am having an issue figuring out our day of timeline. My bridesmaids and I will be getting our hair and make-up professionally done at a cabin near our venue, however there are 14 women getting hair and makeup done including myself. We would like our ceremony to begin no later than 4:30, but would start it at 4 also. We are doing a first look and most pictures prior to the ceremony. Any ideas would help!

I had 14 people getting hair and makeup done, did a first look, and started my ceremony at 4. We started hair and makeup at 7am and had 3 people there working on everyone. I got in my dress at 1:30, followed by first look with my dad, first look with my husband, and bridal party photos. Then signed our ketubah, practiced our first dance, and hid before the ceremony!

My hair and makeup artists were the ones that told me what time they wanted us to start. I told them what time the first look would be and they worked backwards from there and gave me a time to be there. You should ask whomever is doing your hair and makeup because they were very helpful for me.

I'd ask your HAMU artists. We had 13 women & 1 flower girl getting hair & makeup done (two bridesmaids opted to do their own makeup, my MIL wanted to do her own hair). We started getting ready at 10 AM for our 5 PM ceremony (everyone ready and done by 4 PM). Everyone took about 45 minutes per service and I took closer to 1 hour per service. We had 4 artists total.

    Hey Taylor Smiley smile

I agree with the PPs. Speak with your HMUA artist, tell him/her that you wish to start the ceremony at 4, and work your way backwards from there to find a start time. You may also need to loop in with your photographer before setting a day of timeline in stone to make sure he/she has input from a photography perspective (e.g. length of time needed for first look and other photos, lighting at different times, etc.).

Your HMUA and photographer have the biggest impact on your pre-ceremony timeline so speak with them and with their input, build it out Smiley smile
