Day of food while getting ready - Budget/ideas

merebear 10.5.19, on June 8, 2018 at 9:02 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 13

We will be at a resort with approx. 10 guys and 10 girls getting ready in separate rooms. 10-11am prep time - 2pm first looks - 4:30 ceremony - 5pm cocktail hr - 6:30pm dinner served

-should we have an all in one breakfast/lunch spread where we eat while getting ready for people to graze on from 10-4? (i feel like that is such a long time and i don't want anyone going hungry)

-we were thinking chick-fil-a catering!! sweet tea, mimosas, chicken nuggets/sandwiches, parfaits

-what did you guys eat day of? what should we budget for something like this?

-ideas/tips welcome Smiley smile

I was a stylist for a wedding just this morning and they catered in Panera and it was PERFECT. There were muffins, bagels, cream cheese, a fruit tray, coffee and all sorts of juices, sparkling lemonade, etc.

everyone felt full, it was light so no one felt weighed down, and it was all in all just a great choice!

I think it is a good idea. I feel like everyone always loves chick-fil-a and if you get the small/mini sandwichs that won't be too filling/heavy.

We'll be at two separate locations, all the girls at the bungalow at the venue and the guys ast our house. Our plan is to have light snacks for everyone, we'll be separated startingat 10am and wedding is ay 6pm... I'll be the first to be hangry, lol.

For the girls we'll have bagels, fruit tray, mimosas, sparkling water, juice, coffee and wine. We'll order sandwiches from Panera or flatbread pizza. The guys are gonna have donuts, coffee, pizza, and beer.

We will all be getting ready at a hotel that has complimentary breakfast, so we're just going to have sandwich platters from Publix as well as fruit and veggie trays and chips for lunch. We were going to do Panera, but they don't deliver to our hotel, so we'll just pickup some platters on Friday since our hotel suites have full size kitchens.

Our venue/hotel has given us a wedding party lunch for free!! Gourmet sandwiches, cheese and vegy trays, chips and drinks. Lunch will be served to my suite and my FHs suite. We will have to do nothing.

I didn’t even think of breakfast or lunch for the day of the wedding. Holy cow, I’d better get some ideas because I know our family is unruly when they are hungry. Haha

I am thinking something similar to what’s been mentioned here - sandwiches, chips, etc. for lunch. Our hotel has complimentary breakfast so I expect everyone to do that for breakfast and have light snacks and lunch while getting ready. Smiley smile

I was in a wedding where we had a brunch with pastries, fruits, and such. The wedding was later in the day. I was hangry and had a massive headache before the ceremony even started. I would’ve LOVED some Cfa nugget trays or sandwiches. I plan on doing some nugget trays, fruit, and other snacks so that we can graze while we get ready. My wedding won’t be until 7pm so I know I’ll need real food

We got a married at a country club, with the girls in the bridal suite in staggered arrival from 10am on and the guys in the grooms suite in and out from 10am on. Basically we just opened a tab and then told them to order whatever they wanted whenever they wanted throughout the day from the venue’s restaurant menu through the onsite coordinator.

We will begin getting ready around 7 a.m. so I am thinking of having like Panera, or Einstein brothers, plus coffee, and some yogurts/granola bars. We are having brunch at 12, but I want to make sure people are eating consistently, as we will probably have champagne while getting ready!
