Day-of Coordinator for under $1000 in DC area?

Private User, on September 10, 2015 at 10:31 AM Posted in Planning 0 7

Hi everyone,

I'm starting to look at DOCs for my DC wedding and the quotes I've been getting back have all been more than I was planning to spend. Can someone speak to whether $1000 is reasonable for the DC area or if they know anyone who would be willing to charge much less (just starting out, part-time, etc)? I appreciate your thoughts!

Hi @Sharon - have you done a vendor search on WeddingWire yet?

Many of the pros list their prices right on their WW page under 'Prices & FAQ' which should make it easy for you to see the options out there that are within your budget!

    Try looking through these: https://www.weddingwire.com/shared/Search?geo=Washington%2C+dc&cid=15&aovt=y&l=y&mm=n&vss=y&view_type=photo

My DOC of coordinator is in the DMV area. $900

She has been amazing to work with. She also has rentals for decor.

She is on facebook and instagram as well. She is currently revamping her website.

Awesome recommendation from @beautyofdreams! I feel like $1,000 for a DOC in the DMV is tough, but if you put in the work I'm sure you can find it! (for reference I was looking for DOC's in Raleigh and a ton of them were $1,800+)

Don't pick someone just starting out. You're better off with no one, honestly.

I don't necessarily agree with that, Celia - I think someone with a strong events/logistics background could handle it. I would make sure they have at least attended one wedding, though, even if it's their own. lol

There's a company called Just for The Day (IG: @JustForTheDayof) and she specializes in Day of and I think she starts at $800
