Day before the wedding itinerary

Erin, on February 15, 2013 at 9:41 AM Posted in Planning 0 6

Hi everyone,

I have a general idea of the day-of schedule for the wedding, but I'm confused about the day before the wedding. I know we're having our rehearsal at 6pm and the rehearsal dinner after that. Are there things I'm supposed to be doing that day? As far as I know most of the vendor issues will have already been dealt with (I think 4 days before is the deadline for most).

I'm planning on getting a manicure and pedicure that day. Am I missing something? Does anyone have any advice on what you did/ wish you did the day before the wedding?

Thank you!

I'm also trying to come up with mine. Like you, I'm planning the dinner in the evening and also a mani/pedi earlier in the day. I'm not sure of what else to do, but I'm thinking maybe things like packing for the honeymoon, working out, packing a little "emergency wedding day kit", and just making sure everything is in order. I guess it's good not to have too many things plans just in case something comes up, so hopefully we can just relax & enjoy - I'm interested to see what other girls have to say!

The day before is a practice run of the ceremony itself; how everyone is going to walk in, who is standing where, sitting etc; you should also go over protocol for marching into the reception, speeches etc

We are setting up the reception venue the day before so that is a MUST for our Day-Before itinerary.

I agree with Ren. schedule in some excersise, packing, and other "small" tasks that you think you'll remember.

SCHEDULE MEALS! My cousin was so worried the day before, she forgot to eat and ended up passing out by mid afternoon from stress and lack of food.

Im the type of person that i NEED a set schedule to *know* im on task and that im not forgetting anything. it cuts my stress down so much. Smiley smile everything from wake-up to bed-time will be scheduled.

Great question!! I have been thinking about this as well.

I have most of the week before off, but my plan is to finish up a couple of things (we are making our own cakes) so most of these should be done, but will see what the week brings.

We are also doing our own flowers, so will finish those up. Planning on mani/pedi and then the rehearsal and then dinner.

I am also planning on spending the night before at the bridal suite and FH will stay at home ,so I will be packing etc as well.

Whatever you do DO NOT get a massage or a facial... save those for earlier in the week (facial don't do close to your wedding - 3 to 4 weeks out not sooner) or the next day!! Facial could make you break out and a massage could release toxins and make you super groggy the next day... had one of my friends do this so she would be relaxed... I had no idea - I was pumping her FULL of caffeine and she almost had a heart attack over a pimple that popped up....

However - I am having trouble with this as well - I'm thinking winging it... sweet - done! hahaha

The day before was busy for us, but we had some special circumstances:

    * Go to court to get a waiver of the three-day waiting period for the marriage license. (We live in Maryland, and were getting married in Massachusetts, so we couldn't get the license before then.)

    * Apply for and get the marriage license itself.

    * Pick up the two dogs from the motel where we stayed the night before, and check out of the motel.

    * Pick up a friend from the airport.

    * Check in to the house where everyone was staying the night before the wedding and the wedding night, and drop the two dogs off there.

    * Go with the friend for manicures.

    * Meet with the rabbi for the first time.

    * Call in order for lots of pizzas for our welcome dinner.

    * Welcome dinner for all our guests.
