David's Bridal

Is anyone getting nervous about using David's Bridal since the recent bankruptcy announcement? I'm not getting my dress from there, but I was planning on using them for my bridesmaids dresses. My wedding is May 2024.

So I’m getting married next week and I still
Don’t have my wedding dress because I had to pull it from David’s to bring it to an emergency seamstress to fix the damage they did to my Oleg Cassini dress. The put me in a whole larger size so they can charge me 900 dollars in alterations - more than the dress and then ended up taking in too much and trying to cover it up. They told me it was because my size increased - meanwhile I’ve been doing the wedding diet and I know for a fact I lost weight . I went off on them for reimbursement but of course they are fighting it. I plan on going to corporate next but not sure how that will go since they filed chapter 11. My bridal experience there was the absolute worst and a huge regret so my advice to anyone is so not use them. They are honestly scam artists.

OMGGGG, I'm so sorry for you. I'm getting my dress somewhere else, but I would be devastated if this happened to me. What is the wedding diet?

    Congrats on your upcoming wedding.

I think with David's Bridal that it is better to order their dresses online. It is easier to return and get a different size. With their current situation, that return might not work as well.

Yes I was worried about that too and I talked to the manager at several locations and only a few locations are being closed, they aren't going bankrupt 🙂

I would not order any dresses from David’s Bridal.
They are struggling like many other retailers. They’ve Filed bankruptcy twice in the last 5 years and recently had massive layoffs.

A store manager can tell you everything is okay, but no one knows what is coming until corporate make decisions. They could crumble like BBB.

I got my wedding dress from here I didn't know they were going through this. But you might have to shop online if you dont have other shops around.

Alfred Angelo Bridal closed down suddenly about a half dozen years ago. It is a bit bad that David's Bridal not only has gone into the bankruptcy process but that people, at the same time, get nervous about buying from there.

I agree! They are closing some stores and not all are great, but that is like any franchise... Bankruptcy doesn't mean they are gone completely. I just don't understand the fear. You can get alterations done anywhere. If you like the dress for the price, then I hesitate to see the problem. Maybe it's because I can also sew.
