David's Bridal

Sonya, on April 26, 2023 at 9:36 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 52
Is anyone getting nervous about using David's Bridal since the recent bankruptcy announcement? I'm not getting my dress from there, but I was planning on using them for my bridesmaids dresses. My wedding is May 2024.

I've used them before in my best friend's wedding, we didn't have any issues.

I would honestly plan on looking elsewhere. There are soooo many other great and affordable options for bridesmaid dresses.

I am very nervous about using them now, but I don’t have my bridal shops in my area, so I have two options before I end up having to go to David’s. I also really like their bridesmaids dresses as well.

Use one of the online stores! Azazie, Birdy Grey, Kennedy Blue. There are others, but even just those three will give you hundreds of options. Azazie also has a try-on option. I think it’s like $10 a dress, and they send you a sample so it’s just like if you were going in person.

I second Azazie. I didn’t pick the dresses my girls wore. I just gave them a color and said to find a dress in a shade of that color because I wanted them to find a dress they liked. My bridesmaid did the try on option and ended up getting a dress that way! The try on option is great. My MOH (my sister) found hers on Amazon though and tbh I really loved her dress and never would’ve guessed it came from Amazon

They also all have fabric swatches, so if you want to decide on a color in advance, you can do that, too. It works great because then you already have the swatches ready for color-matching other aspects of your wedding.

Yes, they told me the same thing when I called, however anything can happen between now and next May.

Yeah my sister got this dress from Amazon David's Bridal 1
    David's Bridal 2

I personally never considered Amazon until she found this dress! I don’t think a lot of people think to look there

I hope you’ll be able to find something you like!

I have no concerns, but each location can be different. Someone also mentioned Azazie... lots of options. Do internet search or pinterest for bridesmaid dresses...

Azazie has been my bridesmaids' go to, even though I gave them free range with amazon, davids, birdy grey, etc. They're fairly cheap, most of them $100 and under, but the quality is great. I myself had one from them for a wedding I was in and it was comfy. The added benefit of Azazie is a huge color range AND the option for custom sizing. I'm 5 ft tall, so I was able to get my dress shortened for free instead of needing to pay for alterations.

The only downside (though I would say this is true for any online retailer, even Davids online options) is that the colors are not exactly as they appear online. I would definitely recommend ordering swatches, as a couple I was in love with look NOTHING like they do online, as they just edit the color on top of the dress to look similar. You can get three samples for free with a code, if you needed more you can just have your bridesmaids sign up to order any additional Smiley smile
