David's Bridal Selection??? (I'm apparently picky :-P)

So I'm starting to worry about getting a dress, being 6 months away from my wedding (yes, I know I'm being "last minute"). I got a coupon for $50 off at DB, so am considering going there, but I looked online, and didn't see anything I liked (I'm normally not a picky person, but I am apparently SUPER...

Does David's Bridal have more selection in store than online? Is it worth going there?

(Thinking of going to the Rockville one if you're local to DC). Thanks!

Never hurts to try on dresses... make an appointment there, as well as other bridal stores in the area. There are several in that area... Love Couture Bridal, I Do I Do Wedding Gowns, and Hannelore's of Olde Town (if you want to venture into Virginia). I highly recommend Love Couture and I Do I Do Wedding Gowns. Good luck! Try them on. Even when I was at Davids Bridal I didn't like the dresses I saw. Then I put them on and I loved it. Wedding dresses are made to be worn.

Cassie-Go in and try them on in the store. The last dress I tried on was the one I chose. I had favorited it on the DB website just because it was an off the shoulder style, but SO plain. The picture online did not do it justice at all. The same with the 1st dress I tried on....looked gorgeous on the website and hideous when I tried it one!

Definitely go. I picked 10 online and then tried on 6. Some looked good on model but not on me. Some detail is lost in photo so you can't tell until you see it in person. I ended up buying Wg3647. Caution - they will try to convince you to buy a sash or tiara but don't get pulled into it.

I was hesitant about DB as well, I did not think they would have anything other then the few dresses I had seen on family/friends that had bought from Db.. I was very wrong. & I totally agree with everyone, the online dresses look sooooo different in person, you have to just go & see if you find anything you like in person.

I'm not much help because I saw my dress online (maggie sottero), tried it on, and bought it... one and done... but everyone else is right about trying things on. You just never know until you see dresses on.

I'm not a fan of DB at all, but with your timeline, it's probably your best bet. My dress took 8 months to come in. Some designers have rush designs, but I'm sure they still take a few months to arrive. Get to shopping!

Go try things on!! I didn't like any pictures of dresses. Nothing stood out to me. But when I got into my dress, it felt amazing. Honestly, I looked better than the DB model in it! She was very slender and the dress basically sat on her.....on me, it really flaunted curves. You never know!

I would definitely go in and see the dresses in person. i felt the SAME way. i didn't see anything i liked online, but the dresses were much better in person. i ended up buying my dress at DB and my seamstress keeps raving about how easy the alterations have been on it because of how it was made. lol. so yay!

I was also very apprehensive about DB, I started my search there just to try a few styles on and was not expecting to find my dress. This was back in July and I was just very excited to start the wedding planning and my sister and mom wanted to have a little girls day so I said what the heck. My mom found this big huge Tulle and I was so not into it but she made be try in on and instant tears! Bought it right then and there and still love it!

I went in with style #s from the website and the consultant brought the one I wanted with different ones that were similar, I did not see them online. I ended up getting the dress I was not a fan of online, when you try them on they all look soo different.

My dress is from DB but I would not have found it online. Apparently it was only made 4 time and sent to 4 different DBs all over the country. I got lucky with one being sent to my state and going to the right DB in the state. There is no information what so ever online about my dress or style number. It's a Oleg Cassini! So go! You may find your one of a kind! I bought it off rack so I didn't have to order it!

Dresses look different on the hanger than they do on you, so don't worry about the selection online. Remember that you can always spruce up a dress by adding beaded sashes, fancy jewelry, maybe a shawl or changing the neckline. There are things that can be done to make it better Smiley smile
