David's Bridal exchanges

Brianna, on December 18, 2013 at 2:29 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 28

I bought my wedding dress back in March, but i dont think its MY dress. I been having second thoughts bc I changed my date 2 times. I got the dress from davids bridal. I know its been about 9 months but all I want to do is exchange it for another. I just want to wear a dress that I LOVE a dress that is ME. Can someone please help me? What can I do, besides going to a resale shop?

You can try to go back to Davids and see if you can exchange it for another. I've heard of this happening sometimes but it doesn't happen always.

The only option you have is to call DB & tell them what you want to do. Talk to the store's Manager & hope for the best. Good Luck

David's told me that you can only exchange for a higher-priced item. A sales person told me that they will do it if the first purchase hasn't left the stores, but I'm not sure if that's entirely accurate.

I think probably as long as you haven't gotten any alterations done yet.

I bought my dress in August at a DB in Oklahoma. I exchanged it in June at a DB in Texas. My dress was the sample and discontinued. Don't fret, they will do exchanges!

Did you just call? Or did you go in there with the dress? I feel like there could be a huge difference in their answer if you are face to face with them vs. just a phone call.

That probably would have helped them make the decision to let you exchange it honestly.

DO NOT CALL DB. Go up there in person with your dress and an appointment to try on dresses. That is what worked for me.

I called and they told me no. Two days later, I said fuck it, and made an appointment to try on dresses. I was going to sell mine online somewhere. The receptionist told me to bring mine (nudge nudge wink wink) because brides have better luck in person. They said they would exchange it the minute I walked in the door, as long as I spent the same or more. Which I did.

Well, here in Missouri, I dealt with some pretty sweet ladies. I made about 2-3 exchanges, and as long as the prices came up to my original balance, it was ok. They even let me pay the difference once.

Yep, I did. Everything was in the bridal bag, including accessories. When I called, they asked me if I was a first time bride, because I was already in their system. I said no, and that I already had a wedding dress purchased over the summer. They told me to bring it with me.
