Date or venue

So, we have to find a new venue. We have 2 in mind.

One can accommodate our date but as a 12-5 wedding. This location does not have many places on the property to take photos. We will be stationary/limited to one place. No bridal suite. They are great with our limited budget. The inside is dark looking

The second location does not have our date. They do have other Saturdays and or Fridays available at whatever time we want. Many photo opportunities on the property. Bridal suite. The inside is bright and beautiful. Fridays are in our budget but Saturdays are not.
I dont know if the date is more important or the venue. I know that it shouldn't matter as long as I am marrying my FH. But we have been planning this for a long time and with our venue permanently closed with a possibility of no refund we want to find something nice for ourselves.

For the photo opportunities are there any near by places you could go to for the photos?

What is important to you? Photo opportunities, bridal suite? Or the budget like the pp said is it possible that you can take pics elsewhere?

I think you have to decide what is most important to you. A 12-5 wedding, I'm assuming that means noon-5pm.

I ask as we considered rescheduling, we considered a midday cake and punch affair... then we went with Halloween and knew we wanted to throw an evening costume party.
I'm just traditional in I wanted to get married on Saturday. No way around it.

The venue was most important for us and that it was a Saturday in May. But like everyone else said...whatever is more important to you. Smiley smile

What do each of them come with? If one comes with something like tables/chairs and the other does not, it's a huge difference. We looked at a venue that was more expensive than the one that we ended up with but that one had an entire room of decor to choose from. I would have saved a ton of money on that kind of stuff. Even if it was more expensive upfront, it would have balanced out.

I had to move venues as well (not due to the virus). We toured 5 places in one weekend and in the end decided that photo opportunities was really important. I am paying $4,000 for my photographer and I want it to be worth it. I was lucky that all 5 places had my date open since we had already bought my wedding band with the date engraved and sent the save the dates out.

I figured I still wanted my "dream wedding" or why spend the money. I didn't want to spend all this money on a wedding and have it not be what I wanted and so I did not want to compromise on venue. In your situation, I would be worried about having a venue only from 12-5. For me, I needed the place to allow all the plans and vendors I had already confirmed.

If you can make the nicer venue work, I would. Check with your bridal party and family and confirm a new date would work for them all so that everyone who is essential can make the new date.

Sorry you are dealing with this issue!
