These events are hosted events and planned by whoever is hosting. You don't plan them yourself.

My bachelorette party was 2 months before our wedding and our showers were 1-2 months before our wedding.

We aren't having bachelor/bachelorette parties to save $ for the honeymoon but our shower is going to be late June. We get married August 26th. The bridesmaids are planning the shower.

For the shower, 8 weeks before is common.

For the Bach party, it's really preference. I am having mine this weekend, 4 weeks out to the wedding. But my MOH and I chose that date simply because it worked for everyone.

and just bc your family or bridal party is planning these events doesn't mean you can't have some input on your dates!

I would probably do the shower in October just to beat the rush around the holidays!

6-8 weeks before the wedding for the shower, but you don't plan it yourself - my mom is planning mine ( I think, she's currently mad at me for various reasons so it might not happen)

Bachelorette could be whenever really, but again you don't plan that either your maids will plan that.

    Hi there,

Really there is no rule on when to have either, it depends on when is best for you! Usually, your bridesmaid/significant women in your life plan both. You most definitely can have a say on when you want to celebrate both but as for planning usually, the bride is minimally involved. The place where you want to have your shower also plays a huge factor in your date. So I would choose a date sooner than later- lots of things are booking quickly! Especially now bc of many COVID 2020 brides getting married this year- I quickly found this out!

For instance, I'm getting married on October 2, 2021. I decided on the date of my shower (which was based on what days my venue had available) I'm having on August 22nd- So a month and about a week before. My bridesmaids are planning my bachelorette party which they gave me a few dates to choose from. We are having my bachelorette party September 10-12 so A few weeks before our big day.

I have heard people doing bachelorette parties as far out as a few months before the big day to a few weeks before the big day, to the week before the big day. It's all up to you!

    I hope this helps!

Good luck to you! Smiley smile

I’m getting married December 18th. We just got back from our Bachelorette Trip. I wanted a beach trip and so we decided to go during the summer months. I have a shower planned for October and a Christmas themed shower where guests bring a Christmas item with them planned for November.

My wedding is December 15th and I'm planning on having my bachelorette in October. I'm not having a shower since I'm having a microwedding, but if I were having one, it'd probably be in October as well. My opinion as far as who should plan what is that you do you! You definitely don't have to follow tradition just because other people do. Good luck and congratulations!

I wanted to do more outdoor events for both so the shower is at the end of sept. And the Bach is at the beginning of October. Plus I didn’t want to do anything in November with people getting ready for the holidays.

Above all else, you need to discuss this with your maid of honor/bridesmaids/whoever else would be considered the host. You can say what you want, but it's up to them to do the planning and send the invitation. With your wedding date being right in the middle of the holiday season, it might be tricky to do anything within a month of your wedding. People's plans will be all over the place, especially this year when they will want to make up for last year. I think you could have the shower in September-October, as showers are usually 2-3 months out. The days of having the bachelorette party the night before the wedding are long gone. I would think maybe Halloween weekend or the first weekend of November would be good. A Halloween bachelorette party might even be fun! Good luck!

Having my bridal party in San Diego. My bridesmaids are throwing the bridal shower during the day and Bach party at night because they all live in Chicago and I’m stationed in San Diego. It’s September getting married in December!
