FH and I couldn't decide between summer or fall date. We took several things into consideration.
Summer: out of state family always comes for a visit. Perfect time for a wedding and reception. BUT too close to his daughter's birthday and too warm.
Fall: one of our favorite seasons, right before the holidays. Out of state family is willing to make the extra trip. Not too cold or too warm.
With FH & I both loving the fall. Weather is perfect, some of our favorite colors are fall colors.
