Dancing down the aisle!?

Lauren, on July 2, 2013 at 1:54 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

Hey ladies! I would like some input on what y'all think about dancing down the aisle! I am having a beach wedding in Gulf shores on 10/15/2013 *95 days! woohoo!!* I have about 70 guest attending (Pretty muchh all family and few friends).

Me and the FH have watched a few videos on youtube of people dancing down the aisle and think it is hilarious and fun. What do yall think? Pros? Cons?

I think on the beach it may be difficult if everyone will be dancing and walking in the sand. If you do decide to do it, i would just suggest keeping it short. You just want to be sure it's not too long where your guests become bored after a while and so they won't be baking in the sun if its too hot out.

Its fun inside of a church or building where there is air conditioning, but outside in the sun, id be kinda irritated at the amount of time it would take for everyone to dance down the aisle

Are you talking about you and hubby dancing back up the aisle after the ceremony? Or the wedding party dancing down the aisle at the beginning?

I think it sounds like a fun idea... but personally, I'd hate to organize and choreograph the entire wedding party, with only 95 days to go. Getting my people in the same place at the same time to practice something like that would be a terrible task.

I think doing it on the beach would be cute..however it's hard to come off as not cheesy or to fall flat..I wouldn't do it personally because I want the focus to be on the emotion of walking down the aisle..I feel like the dance sort of would lighten the mood a lot so to speak.

Honestly I don't think it would take that long, it's the ceremony that can take long, not necessarily dancing down the aisle. So that shouldn't be an issue.

It depends on how it's done. I've seen some I like and some that I think are really stupid. OR LONG. I saw one where the groomsmen walked to ONE FULL SONG, then the bridesmaids ONE FULL SONG, then the ringbearers, then the bell ringer, and THEN the bride. It was like 20 minutes of people walking down the aisle.

But I do feel that it can take away from the emotions of the event. If you want casual and fun for the ceremony than by all means, go for it.

I would talk it over with your BP. We're not doing it because we're getting married in a church, but I also know 2 of the people in our BP would be beyond uncomfortable if we did.

I threatened to strangle my bp if they do this. Its fun but I'm already having a panic attack about having to stand up there in front of all of those people. I refuse to have them doing the worm caught on camera at the ceremony.
