Dances at wedding

Genesis, on July 20, 2022 at 10:15 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 3
Neither my parent nor my fiancé parents helped pay for our wedding. Is it wrong for me not to want me nor my fiancé have a “parent dance?” I feel as if she wants to do it only for show and for the cameras.

Who pays for the wedding has nothing to do with spotlight dances. Also, Spotlight dances are completely optional. If you don’t feel comfortable doing them, there is nothing wrong with omitting them.

I agree with Cece, regardless if they pay doesn’t mean if you do a dance with them. I am definitely including my dad and we have a dance routine. However, my mom isn’t. My fiancé does not want to do a dance with either of her parents so we will be skipping that part.

Those are unrelated. The parent dances are optional anyway and many couples skip them due to no relationship with parents or they have passed on , but not paying for the wedding isn’t a reason to skip them.
