cz Wedding Band... yay or nay?

Hi! So, my FH and I are paying for the wedding entirely on our own which is a lot and frustrating since his parents have more than enough money to help... but that’s a different story for a different time lol

The reason I’m here now is: I fell in love with a dainty, thin white gold wedding band with diamonds but it’s close to $2,000. We’re really REALLy trying to save money wherever possible. My FH suggested maybe we get ceremony rings, which would stay our rings for a little while after - just to give us the additional money for other things for the wedding.

I found a literal identical match to “my ring” on Etsy for $75, but it’s CZ. Has anyone gone this route and decided upon a CZ band? I’m just worried it will look obviously fake on my hand next to my fully real diamond engagement rings. Thoughts?? Any opinion is appreciated!!

For $75, I’d go for it. It can be your temp ring for a while like you guys said (and for travel). And if you love it, what an amazing savings.

I highly recommend CZ. It's kind of a secret (well, not on WW) but my engagement ring and wedding band are both CZ. They are beautiful in person, easy to clean, they dont at all look cheap or fake in person, and so much more affordable. I cant speak to the longevity, as I've only had mine for about 6 months so far, but we did buy insurance for it as I've read that CZ can be sensitive to water. But so far, I really do give it a rating of 10/10!!! (I honestly think my ring is prettier than diamond rings that I've seen friends have.)

Wow!! Your ring is absolutely stunning!! Have you perchance had your ring up next to a real diamond ring? Seeing this I’m not concerned about it not being beautiful, but I’m deff still a bit worried that you’ll be able to tell the wedding band is CZ and the engagement ring is Diamond, especially in my details shots from my photographer.

That's very possible... I've seen it side by side with diamonds and they do look different. It all depends on the clarity of the diamond, I feel like because one diamond I more recently compared it to, made the (diamond) ring look just straight up yellow. But I do feel that generally speaking, and I hope this makes sense, the CZ looks incredibly clear, and real diamonds look a little more grey. Still shiny, and all that good stuff, but they definitely look different side by side.

We went for moisonite stones. I adore mine! Super sparkles and originated from meteors originally. Ours was lab made though. Just love the idea of it being a gemstone that originated from space.

I have a CZ wedding band and i love it! it isn’t the same as my stone whatsoever since my engagement ring is a topaz! i’d say go for it, Etsy normally has a really great return policy so if you get it and aren’t comfortable with how it compares then you can almost always return it!

Try Jarad's they have wedding bands with diamons in them for like 300-500 bucks.

I think my big stone is one carat, the ones around it I think are 1/8, and the small ones on the side are 1/16 (maybe) all diamonds and the band is CZ. I wanted something small that would just enhance my e ring so it’s actually two small Pandora rings! I can’t tell, but the CZ is definitely smaller than the smallest diamonds. It doesn’t seem to make a difference as of now though I haven’t had the fancy professional photos taken yet. I think it’s a great place to save money and get what you really want when you can afford it! Good luck!

I have a moissanite engagement ring, and love it so much. I’ve gotten such an overwhelming amount of compliments. Look into them.

Definitely do this! Not only to save money, but do it to make sure you love your band too! I’m ordering 4-5 different styles and trying them out to see what I want to keep forever and then upgrade maybe for our first anniversary. My sister did this too, she just got married and she got a $15 wedding band on amazon and no one knew the difference. My engagement ring has a moissanite Center stone but the band stones are diamond. No one can really tell the difference between any of them unless you really examine them and even still it’s hard to tell.
