Cupcakes - How many?

Duskie, on June 26, 2010 at 11:51 AM Posted in Planning 0 12

I am doing a fake cake and serving cupcakes on large heart cutouts. How many cupcakes should I have per person? I was thinking 2, but do you think that would be enough?

I would think just 1 per person. Not everyone will want one and there's no reason people would expect to get 2 unless they're the mini ones.

No you need two per person because ppl tend to eat more cup cakes then cakes because they are small plus if you have children there, they will gobble down... I wouldn't necessarly say you had to do 2 per person but I'd only cut a few out, like the older ppl who don't like icying as much.

I'd do just one per person, but with a few extras. After a cocktail hour and a big dinner, I know that I don't have room for more than one cupcake! Smiley smile

I am having 5 flavors of cupcakes from a bakery. The baker said to count on 1.25 per person if you have more than 2 flavors.

I would also do 1 per person and of course have extras made. Some will choose not to eat the cupcakes either way so you should be good to go!

We did 4 mini-cupcakes per person because we were told people would eat more cupcakes, especially with multiple flavors... and we had probably about half of them left over at the end. I would do 1 normal size cupcake per guest, plus a few extras. Some people won't have any; a few will want two, but I think if you do two for every guest, it will be way too many.

Well when I think of my family I think 2. Without a doubt. But they are eatters and eat anything they can get their hands on. With having5 flavors, I would say 2 though because someone may eat one flavor and suggest trying it to another and then they're eating 2 a piece.. This was where I stopped wanting a cupcake tower.. I wanted 6 flavors and I know my fam would want 3 a piece (they are bigger sized.) I was gonna need close to 500 cupcakes.. eh, no way!! LOL. I am having a 3 or 4 tier wedding cake with a side cake or two.. I still have to meet with my baker and see what she suggests.

Duskie, you're just talking about one flavor of cupcake, right?

We did 1 per person and a few extra. There were about a dozen left over.
