Cupcake Wedding Cake prices range?

I am getting married in NJ (where you ask? Who knows! I still can't find a venue! but that's another post . I know finding a venue is my TOP priority, but I am just curious about price ranges for cupcake wedding cakes/towers? As I said, i live in NJ (the world of high taxes and everything is expensive) and I wasn't sure if any ladies out there might have a price range on how much a decent cupcake wedding cake would be? $200? 800? We have some of the best bakeries her in NJ and I would love to have an old school bakery do my cake, but didn't know if cupcake towers/wedding cakes are more expensive than normal wedding cakes.

Your best bet is to call around. Around here $3.00 per cupcake is a safe bet. It can be higher depending on flavors. I have seen it lower, but not by much and not as often.

From what I have seen they are actually more expensive, at least here (Madison, WI) It seems like cupcakes run anywhere from $2.50 (for very simple buttercream) all the way up to $6 per cupcake for more elaborate. Our cake is $1.75 a slice, I couldn't find any cupcakes cheaper then that. Also, it would save us the cutting fee, with the cupcake stand and everything it was definitely more expensive. Check around in your area, but focus on your guest list and venue.

We are doing a cupcake cake with a 6 inch cake at the top. For 150 cupcakes and a 6 inch cake we paid $220. That's including set up. We have our own cupcake stand otherwise it would have been $60 more, with it given back after we returned it. BUT as everything on here it depends where you are in the world I'm sure....I'm in St. Louis, MO...
