Cubic Zirconia Rings

Morgan, on February 2, 2018 at 9:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 39
Hi ladies!! I just got engaged, and I am head over heels with my handmade, mostly cubic zirconia ring (there are a few small diamonds on the band, but the majority are CZ). Unfortunately, I have had a lot of people mention things about CZ or comment on my ring in a degrading way. I just need a little spirit boost that it’s ok to not have all real diamonds! I would much rather have the ring of my dreams at a fraction of the cost, than spend an entire paycheck on something that is just the physical symbol for our love. Let me see those gorgeous CZ rings!!

I think your ring is gorgeous! There is nothing wrong with a CZ ring. My engagement ring was ordered off of Amazon and I love it. My mother's wedding ring was $25 and they've been together for almost 33 years and never has she taken it off. Congratulations!

You’re ring is beautiful. Idk how much FH spent on mine and I don’t care. The commitment he is meaning to me means so much more than he could ever pay for a ring.

You do what makes you happy. It doesn't matter what everyone else says. I wouldn't personally want a CZ because the sparkle just doesn't work for me. But if you love your ring that is all that matters.

My FH could have given me a ring pop and I would have been over the moon. Lots of people are opting for rings that have different stones. As long as your happy that's all that matters

Diamond engagement rings are so 20th century! CZ is durable and sparkly and no one is ever going to know (except a professional under at least some magnification) unless you tell them. We are still in the ring selection stage and have not once thought about natural diamonds, even though it's well within budget.

CZ is lab made diamonds. Very beautiful ring!!! I told my FH to get me CZ because I don't want a blood diamond.

CZ is simulated, not lab created. Lab created are the same chemical composition that's been "grown" in a lab. They cannot be distinguished from natural. While simulated are also lab grown it's a different composition and a professional can easily distinguish.

Thank you all so so much!! I don’t discourage anyone from purchasing a diamond if that is what their heart desires, but it is so nice to seem more people like me who value the meaning more than the stone!!❤️❤️

On the one hand you "don't discourage anyone from purchasing a diamond," but claim that "people like [you] value the meaning more than the stone." That sounds like an indirect way of calling people with diamonds shallow....

Completely agree. Just because you have a diamond doesn't mean that you don't appreciate the meaning behind it.

So if someone started a show me your diamonds thread would you be ok with that?

As long as you love it, that's all that matters. If you truly love it, you don't need validation from internet strangers about your ring.

Same! Right now I haven't found the right one yet (FH is letting me choose) but I absolutely love color!

By the way your ring is absolutely lovely! It doesn't matter what's in the ring or what it is made of, but the intentions behind the ring, the feelings it gives you and the memories you've created together

I specifically told FH not to buy me anything diamond. That was his original plan, but ever since my Comparative Politics professor told us that buying diamonds propped up corrupt dictators who run their third world countries and line their pockets with blood diamond profits I decided I wouldn’t ever buy diamonds, even lab made ones because it still drives up the demand and profit for diamonds. I currently have a band made with Swarovski Crystal but we will be swapping it for a fancier moissanite ring soon.

That ring is gorgeous!! It's no one's business how much you guys spend, or how you choose to spend your hard-earned money.

I don't have CZ, but I do have a pink sapphire, which I think people do judge me a little for not going diamond. We also got it at Sam's Club (oh the horror!). At the end of the day we got exactly what I wanted for a fraction of what jewelry stores were charging...and that's more money in our pockets!

Beautiful ring! I have a diamond but it is very very small so I get a lot of people degrading it for that. I don’t think that ring size or material really matters as long as you love it and it has sentimental value. I chose my wedding ring myself and wanted something small because I’m not a huge jewelry person. A lot of people from my church don’t even do rings.
