Calling all cruise brides! My fiancé and I are considering a cruise wedding and wanted some thoughts about them from people who have either done a cruise wedding or are currently booked and planning there's. We are considering doing a weekend cruise and having a company livestream to anyone who may not be able to attend. The majority of our family and friends love to travel and live near the port we would consider using

I don't love the idea because then the guests have to commit the entire weekend to your wedding. I'm guessing it would also be more expensive. At least with a destination wedding, guests have control over their own schedule and where they go and stay

I'm not sure how you feel about guests being on the same boat as you for a full day after your wedding. That's sort of your honeymoon time.
I think this is one of those ideas where guests would initially be enthusiastic about, then quietly start dropping out once they think through the expense and logistics

That’s 100% fair. That’s on our current pros and cons list. The other idea is to do the cruise wedding and make it more intimate and hold a reception for anyone who couldn’t attend when we get back

I think this might end up being what happens, anyway. It would be similar if you were having a destination wedding at an all-inclusive resort or something.
