Jess08, on May 14, 2013 at 8:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Anyone know of a good cruelty free foundation to use for my makeup at the wedding that works well in photographs?

Products not tested on animals by the company or third part. I include not selling in china too since they require makeup be tested on animals.

Oh boy, I can't think of anything. Urban Decay did come to mind, but they recently decided to sell in China. Can you post a list of brands that fulfill your cruelty-free criteria and we can let you know if any of them make photography-friendly foundations?

Urban Decay is back on the cruelty free list because they declined to sell to China after the customer backlash. I am a cruelty free, green certified company. Some of the products I love are Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, Yaby, Temptu, Urban Decay.

Here is a good resource for currently cruelty free cosmetic lines:

I've been wondering the same! I don't usually wear foundation/make-up so I have no clue what I will do as far as getting a make-up appointment for day of wedding...but I definitely don't want to wear make-up that isn't vegan.

The Body Shop. I used to work there, they have really good ethical practices all around.

Resurrecting this one to get a few more ideas of commonly-available, cruelty-free products that also work well. Of the ones listed here so far, Urban Decay and the drugstore brands are the only ones that are easily accessible here (that I can try in person without ordering online sight-unseen!). I'm specifically curious about NYX -- I have their mascara and like it, but don't know much about their foundation or color products.

Or other brands? Any insight? Normally I'm not very granola, but this is one thing that, if I can support a company that doesn't hurt bunnies, I'd rather do that. Thanks!
