Crowdsourcing Wedding Photos

NancyCtoA, on March 26, 2018 at 10:42 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 17

Has anyone used any of the crowdsourcing photo apps out there? WedSocial, Veri, EverSnap, WedPics, Capsule, Burner, WeddingMix ??

We will have a professional photographer and I'm NOT looking to have my guests "work" for me by taking photos, but I know that a lot of our guests will be snapping away with their cameras. I'd like to be able to enjoy those fun candid moments that our photographer might miss.

Yes, we'll have a hashtag and it will be known to guests, but trying to cover all the bases.

I had my bridal shower this weekend and made a point to not take any pictures, but now I'm tracking down pictures from people who did take them... so I guess I'm trying to prepare for the wedding and make that process smoother.

I've heard of an app called Tacboard. We're looking into it, but it's $99.. Ugh..

    https://tacboard.com

I've heard of wed social. Wedding Party, and Wedpics are two more.

    Following for tips.
I’m interested in this but worry about anything that makes my guests download a whole new app.
i had a cousin several years back create a (private) Facebook group for people to share pics and that was pretty fun

I am interested in Veri, they run specials too so you can get it for multiple event times less then $100. I haven't talked for FH yet so no decisions have been made. Just in research phase 😊

Not my wedding but friends used WedSocial - be prepared for raunchy or heavily inebriated photos to be shared! If you're okay with that then that's probably what my friends got more photos of, like a now infamous DFMO and some guests drunkenly exploring their resort in the dark. Looking back they were really funny but I would have been disappointed if those were the only photos taken.

We hired a photographer team too and will have an unplugged ceremony but I know all of my bridesmaids and family members LOVE taking photos so we added our WedSocial link on our wedding website as a fun option, all of my bridesmaids already downloaded it. They're going to use it for the shower, NICE bachelorette weekend photos and the wedding weekend, excited to see how the photos come out! 😊

I have hopes and dreams of an unplugged ceremony, but I realize there will be some guests who don't listen to our request. The reception won't be unplugged, and all of our people love taking pictures, so I'm really just looking to supplement what our photographer doesn't capture.

Wedsocial because you can connect it to your wedding wire website. As well as wedpics.
I was in a wedding that had a large wedding party in a very small space. When the unity candle ceremony started... EVERYONE stood up and blocked the wedding party from seeing the ceremony. Let's put it this way... At that wedding, I saw the do's and don'ts of what I want to happen at my wedding. We all had fun but it would've been nice to see what was going on. Just make sure to let your guests know NOT to block the photographer but they are allowed to take pics from their SEATS!

My MOH used Veri for her wedding in addition to her photographer. They have to download the app and then any picture automatically uploads to your group. We used it for her shower and her wedding. It was easy to use but most people didn't use it. The pictures were mostly from the BP and they would have just sent her the pics anyway. She used a discount code before Veri and the Knot got linked and she liked it but for myself, I didn't think it was necessary.

This is what I'm doing! Smiley smile

Added the email address to my wedding website, and will have it listed on the "I spy" game I plan on having around the wedding. There's going to be some kiddos, and his nieces especially love taking pictures, I figured it would be a good way to keep them busy!

Follow them on Facebook or social media. Since I heard of them, they've had two separate 30% off sales...

I signed up for TacBoard. I can't tell you how well it works since my wedding is more than five months away, but I felt pretty confident about it

Thanks for this. This makes the most sense of all of the recommendations because people of all ages can contribute.
