Fiancé and I are from different religious backgrounds. We’re in our 30s and it’s a second wedding for both of us. Anyone in a similar situation who held a Christian wedding and a Sikh reception, or vice-versa? Which traditions did you make sure to include?

We are doing a Hindu/Christian wedding.

We are actually doing one ceremony with two parts and one reception. Our reception is more of a typical American reception with American food. We are having a mehndi night the night before which will serve as a more Indian style reception.

We are wearing Indian clothes for the wedding and mehndi and American for the reception.

It's honestly going to be a mix of both and we will see how it turns out!

My fiancé is also Sikh and I come from a Christian background. We are planning on just doing Mehndi on a Wednesday, Haldi and Choora on a Thursday, and the Sikh Ceremony on a Friday morning. The Christian Ceremony will be held on a Saturday with the reception following. My fiancé's brother also married a Christian girl and this was the same thing they did.

That’s a great idea doing the ceremonies in order like that. Thank you for your response!
