I see a lot on here about honey funds and house funds and all that, and I 100% agree, they are so tacky! Personally I've only ever seen gofundme's for funerals, freak accidents, ect. but today my cousin shared a friends post and it popped up on my feed... I was shocked. I had to share lol. The whole...

Is this a common thing? Have you seen a lot of pages for various extraneous expenses??

....the stresses of being an 18 year old.. wow. Go get a job and save up for a vacation.

I recently had a co worker make one for help to repair his truck that was once his grandfathers.. but someone found the money to buy a brand new MacBook Pro..

Gofundme pages have gotten absolutely ridiculous lately

I just want to make one for me for no reason lol ugh I've also seen it done by parents raising money for their kids school trips and stuff and it's like really? When I was a kid if we didn't have the money we didn't do it, we didn't beg for hand outs for things that weren't necessary

I saw a girl make one to try and raise money so she could start up her "younique" buisness lol and people gave to her! I don't think she started it I think she just pocketed the money because she never posted about it after she raised her goal

Omg I have twin cousins who JUST turned 15. I also have a cousin who's 30ish who lives in Italy with two small kids and wants my 15 year old cousins to come and babysit for her all summer. They started a gofundme stating this was a once in a lifetime opportunity...yeah a once in a lifetime opportunity to go to Italy and babysit? No thanks. I have no problem with people making gofundme's for people who were just in an accident, lost their house to a fire, etc. but not for your own personal pleasure. So ridiculous

I've just stopped laughing at her post.

Just for kicks and giggles one day at work, a coworker and I scoured go fund me. There is some random stuff on there! Some deserving but mostly cringeworthy.

There's a lot of Gofundmes for proposals, which, ugh. A lot of them have gotten removed, it looks like, but some remain: https://www.gofundme.com/eyh4wrzk

This is a girl I went to high school with. Someone actually donated, which makes me angrier than the actual gofundme

The stress of being in high school? Really? I wish I could go back to the "stress" of high school days, when all I had to worry about was what outfit I was wearing to school that day. Seriously though, this is extremely tacky. Not to mention, an 18 year old should NOT be going to Mexico by herself.

Someone I went to high school with has one to help them get out of $40,000 in credit card debt.

"I'd like to be able to fix my credit and have a fresh start" is what it says somewhere in there. Idk, call a financial adviser?
