covid Wedding Pick Me Up?

Caitlyn, on September 22, 2020 at 4:23 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10

Hey Fellow Brides!

I've never posted here, but I was reading another post and it made me feel better, so...

I'm a 10/10/20 Bride! We're still going forward with our wedding, ~65 people, but we've made a lot of changes to address COVID. The whole thing will be outside, masks for everyone, hand sanitizer for everyone, everything is being served to people, grouped seating at the ceremony, etc.

But! Guys! I am like still so on edge about the COVID wedding thing. Does anyone have any pick-me-up words to share? How have you handled it? This is a scary time!

Hugs to all my fellow brides! We need it right now!

I don’t have any pick me ups just kind of in the same boat. 12/6/20, yesterday we started sending out notes to our family friends saying that we can’t hold our 120+ wedding anymore for obvious safety reasons.
We’re still doing a celebration with 17 guests only but I’m pretty terrified that someone will get sick even with masks and social distancing.

It's really hard! I feel you! We're all caught in this place where we still want to get married and have our special day while also worrying about people's safety!

So, hang in there! Smiley heart

"By faith, and not by fear"

I am in the same boat. My date is November 15th, 2020. I am going ahead with our original plans (our guest list was less than 100). We won't be offended if people chose not to come because of covid (we already had some say so). If they feel most comfortable wearing a mask, they are welcome to. I'm not quite sure what my venue is doing but I know they are open and still having weddings. We can have the chairs spaced for social distancing. They also added hand sanitizer stations.
Also, I subscribed to the ring boxes for 6 months, so it really adds to the excitement and is a pick me up during this situation.

We’re date twins and we always planned an outdoor wedding/reception but taking precautions and like you proving masks, hand sanitizer and other goodies in their welcome bags.

Honestly, I’m not worried. I read the guidelines for our wedding state and just don’t see a reason to be worried.

Hey Hey, I’m a November 7th 2020 bride so I understand your worries. The most kind words I can offer are to not worry. As long as you have done all you can do to accommodate the restrictions, have faith that all will be well. I’m praying that your day turns out beautifully❤️

Hi Caitlyn!! If it helps, our wedding was last month with all the same precautions you are taking and no one got covid 👍 We had 105 guests, all outdoors, plated dinner, etc. and everyone said it was the best wedding!!! Hoping to do a post with details and photos soon!! Stay strong and your wedding will be the happiest event your guests have been to all year ❤️❤️❤️

No one got sick at our miniwedding!

If you're struggling with the fact that you have to incorporate covid precautions into your wedding, act like they're something you want and try to have fun with them. For example, I tied our place cards to boxes so they looked like presents and put face masks, hand sanitizer, and extra napkins in them.

One thing that covid had done is made us think outside the box. As long as you have precautions in place and keep being safe in mind I think you and your guess will be fine. If you are concerned with your guess comfort, possible add something like this to your reception to ease the guess minds.
