covid Wedding Celebration/vow Renewal - Guest Book

Lia, on May 20, 2021 at 7:44 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 7

Hello! I got married last June in 2020 during COVID with immediate families only. This year we are having our Wedding Celebration- including a ceremony & reception and this time we will write our own vows!

Question- for the Guest Book- should we put "Jonathan and Lia June 25, 2021" or should we put "Jonathan and Lia June, 19, 2020" since that is our actual marriage date?

I have the exact same thing as you - already married last June but finally have the wedding this June and we are keeping our original wedding date on everything!

Oh that’s a good question! Do you even need to put a date on it? I’m in the same situation!

Our wedding was canceled 2 weeks before it happened in April. Everything was already printed so that’s what we’re using for our wedding in 21 days.

I got married last October and will have a reception this October. We are putting the 2021 date on anything that has to do with the reception so for our guest book we will put October 23, 2021 because that's the date all these photos are from and when the guests signing the book actually attended. Same thing with welcome signs etc. For anything that is specific to when we were married we will use the actual 2020 date, i.e. anything that says "Last name Est. 2020" And then for other things we just won't do a date - I want to have personalized corn hole boards at our reception and I just will have our last name and initial instead of the marriage or reception date. Not everything needs a date and its not like you'll forget the date anyways so for me choosing to think that way has made everything easier

My vow renewal is a little different - since it's many years later - but I am simply not putting dates on anything. For me, it's because, as silly as it sounds, my original wedding date/date we actually got married is the special one to me, so I don't really need anything to have my vow renewal date on it.
