Just Said Yes October 2020

Covid wedding 10/10/2020 ca

Hello,
So my Fiancee and I sent out 50 wedding invitations. We assumed maybe half of them would say No due to covid. Now we are stuck in the dilema because EVERYONE said yes and rsvp with a plus one. We now have about 100 guest. We have a pretty big backyard were we could accommodate them but I’m scared cops would be called If there are so many people. Idk what to do or how to tell certain people not to come. I’m not even sure how many people lawfully I can have in my home or if there is a law about it.

I don't think there are any laws limiting people you can have at your house. It depends on what state you are in for what the COVID guidelines are. I would suggest talking to your neighbors and letting them know about your plans so you wont have to deal with them on the day of your wedding.

At least in my state (and I believe in most states), the gathering restrictions 100% apply to public and private events, i.e. on private property. You need to check the state law and the county where you live b/c most states allow counties to enact their own (more restrictive) measures. It's pretty easy to google "covid restrictions [insert county]." The county website or the state department of health will have those restrictions. Also, in my state and those surrounding me, the police are repeatedly called to disperse large events over the gathering limits.

Hi Lisa! You can also go to your county & state's government websites to see what the current social distancing guidelines and regulations are to see if there's a limit on gathering size!

Since you're in CA, it will depend on what county you're in. I would look up "[county] gathering limit" to find out more. Good luck!
